@teamsteem - Why I Voted For Him As A Witness + Explanation Of The Witness System! - All SBD From This Post Donated Directly To Cambodian Children! 😃

Before writting this post I contacted @teamsteem to inform him of my intentions, and that I did not want any money from the post. I have never written a post like this before and wanted to informed him that I had been deeply inspired by @hitmeasap's amazing post about why he voted for @teamsteem and wanted to add my voice and vote!

This is more of a personal recommendation for @teamsteem than an in-depth explanation of the Steemit witness system. I also sent a message to @hitmeasap with the same sentiments! 😉

Sometimes when I plan a post it takes me longer to get it out than intended. I learnt that with my first series. This post has also taken some time to manifest - but here it is:

I am proud to announce my vote for @teamsteem as a witness and support him with pleasure! 😃

My First Interaction With @teamsteem! 🎇

Apart from a brief exchange about Veganism my first real memory of my friendship with @teamsteem happened at around 3-4 am under the stars when I was living on Bali. My room was near the river, a magical moon, incense smoke and fireflies hung in the night sky. As most Bali nights are it was purely magical... 🌒

I believe my life changed forever during that conversation with @teamsteem. Why? Those reasons are my own but all I am about to say about @teamsteem is true. That first long conversation with @teamsteem will stay in my memory for life. I finally slept around 7 am and then woke again to continue the conversation at 10 am.

The results of that conversation were to change my life forever and I am living those changes now with laughter and wonder sparkling in my eyes! 😉

@teamsteem Declines Payout - Dedicates It To Phnom Penh's Poor! 😃

Explaining that I did not want to profit from writing this post I suggested to @teamsteem three options:

1. I decline payout on the post
2. I send the payout to him to do with as he pleased
3. I donate the payout to a charity or account of his choice

@teamsteem's response was wonderful but not out of character for him... His desire was that I keep the payout and use it to do something positive for the poorest people here in Phnom Penh. I love his idea and that is what will be happening with the SBD payout from this post!

@teamsteem's suggestion was that perhaps I buy lunch for those who are hungry. I like this idea but I will also look at what can be done for the children who live in Phnom Penh's municipal dump. Everything that is done with this money will be documented and accounted for here on Steemit!

I feel confident that this process of Steemit gifting will be enjoyable and increase our collective knowledge! 🐴

@teamsteem - Why He Is Amazing, One Of My Favourite Steemians & The First Witness I Voted For!

@teamsteem has spent significant amounts of his personal time to read my posts - which can often be very long! He has taken a lot of time to provide me with a variety positive, helpful and insightful suggestions. How refreshing! It is in part because of @teamsteem's incredible support that I gained the confidence I have now on Steemit! 😃

His selfless, unsolicited assistance towards me and others on the Steemit network has contributed to my intention of becoming a stronger more solid member of Steemit. This process will entail increasing my knowledge base - and I am excited about that!

Previously I did not know much about the witness voting system on Steemit, so this has been an opportunity for me to learn and become a wiser member of our amazing community. Hopefully I can share this newly acquired knowledge with other Steemians who are keen to learn! 😉

Here are some great things I love about @teamsteem's actions as a community member that I believe qualifies him as a great witness:

1. When he engages in a conversation it is often done in a strong competent manner. He makes strong comments that are often well researched!
2. He regularly writes long, well researched and thoughtful articles which push and define the boundaries here on Steemit!
3. He seems to vote with wisdom and is prepared to support hard work with high upvotes!

Added to his being a witness, all of this activity represents a significant investment of time for @teamsteem. In one of our conversations about a long post of mine @teamsteem told me that he was being read the post aloud - which I think was wise. I have yet to try this myself but it sounds interesting!

@teamsteem - Look at the cool fringes of his shirt collar & cuffs - how they oppose the stripes on his tie! As someone who has remained anonymous I applaud his open frakness. Excellent! 😉

What Are Steemit Witnesses & Why They Are Important?

This has been a very interesting learning process that is still ongoing for me. There are already some excellent posts here on understanding Steemit witnesses and I suggest reading:

Essentially my current understanding is that Steemit witnesses run the nodes that keep our wonderful Steemit network alive. Steemians are allowed to vote for only 30 witnesses and there is a financial element involved in being a Steemit witness. There is also a significant obligation because the network requires the witnesses to run witness servers and produce the blocks/transactions that the rest of us rely on.

I am sure we All agree this is vital and important work that deserves to be done by trusted members of our community for the benefit of those of us who invest ourselves in Steemit! 😉

It is the responsibility of witnesses to decide the changes and facilitate Steemit. We ned responsible, intelligent people we trust for this job. It is only fair that they are recommenced for their work but we need strong trustworthy Steemians to fill those roles. It is for this reason that I am happy to recompensed @teamsteem as a witness. I want @teamsteem to represent my vote on Steemit as he seems to have the necessary qualities of:

• Intelligence
• Diligence
• Compassion
• Willingness to actively support our network
• Commitment
• Humour, Love and a seemingly Honest spirit 😃

He gets my witness vote and I am looking forward to learning more about the Steemit witness process! 😃

The Differences In My Experiences With @teamsteem From @hitmeasap! - How Cool! 😃

@hitmeasap made some interesting comments on @teamsteem's voting approach in his post but it is interesting - I have had a different experience. @teamsteem has given me high percentage votes on the posts I have worked the hardest on. This has been an incentive to work harder and produce better quality content for Steemit. Ultimately producing quality content strengthens the network for us all!

What is wonderful about the differences in voting styles is very positive for Steemit. It appears that @teamsteem tries to spread his votes around the community, yet it is clear that he is prepared to fully back content he believes in!

I can't think of a more robust voting strategy for the strength of the Steemit network! 😃

How To Vote For Witnesses And @teamsteem

The approach you choose for Steemit witness voting is entirely your own. I have taken my time, started to read and begun voting for witnesses that I believe are intelligent and honest. For me this is more important than voting for witnesses based on any consideration of upvotes.

In a deeper sense I want to see the Steemit network strengthened so we can share this wonderful experience together for longer!

My Witness Voting Learning Process

As an ongoing learning process about the Steemit blockchain - I expect this growth to continue throughout the coming year!

I have already voted for several other witnesses but out of respect to all the support that @teamsteem has shown me I have left him alone in pride-of-place as the sole witness I vote for at the bottom of my posts. That will change in the future to reflect my true voting and honour others I respect, but for the mean time it remains happily @teamsteem! 😃
