Random Musings 006: Radiate Penang 2018 pt1

I had the privilege to be a part of a movement in Penang. It's called the Radiate Movement and so far it has swept over the cities of Miri, Kota Kinabalu and Penang! Here's hopefully a short summary of what you missed out so far! If you've missed out and want to join "Victorious"! There's still a chance, It's happening in Kota Kinabalu Late August so if you're keen don't miss out!

Day 1

I was pretty excited because I heard there were people coming over to Penang from Kota Kinabalu. The youth group from Kota Kinabalu BLAST & CO which stands for Basel Likas Awesome Spiritual Teens and Community had arrived in Penang.
_{(pretty sure this name was inspired by TMNT aka teenage mutant ninja turtals)}

The day prior before Day 1 of Radiate, I was able to have a quick hangout session with the KK team before heading to a Radiate meeting.

If you don't already know, @honjun88 is an architect by day and a youth leader by night! This guy is a superhero and he was going to share his heart out on Day 2! Can you spot him?

Once I got off work, I quickly went home and showered, zipped straight to Penang Christian Center, where the magic was going to happen.

There were a few games that allowed everyone to participate, straight after that we had amazing music lead by @jesonhuang and the kk team.

This guy was here to share a little bit about what Radiate was all about.

So far, in Radiate we mostly had 4 teams. Pink, Blue, Red and Yellow. For the past 7 times Radiate was organized, Pink Team had taken the Radiate Championship 3 times! Someone had to stop them! Yellow had never one, and Blue team was just about to gain momentum from their last win in Radiate KK 2017.

This guy shared to the crowd that in Radiate anything can happen, and No one get's left behind. That would be a theme among all the Radiate sessions that happened and was about to come!

The sports director came up afterwards and gave us a bit of an orientation on how the sports competitions were going to proceed and we ended a good night with pictures and great music. Radiate Penang 2018 was off to a good start!!

Day 2

I managed to get off work on this day! I didn't want to miss the first day!

Registration started early and everyone was ready to mingle! Everyone had sports attire on and were ready to game! We broke ice for a little while and the Amazing Music Team played great music once again!

This guy showed up again and shared with us on the importance of Choices. The title was "Welcome to the Jungle" Paying homage to Jumanji, a movie he watched.

He shared about how moving away from adolescence and into adulthood, we were hit with the reality that is "adulting."

Everyone would say Welcome to reality a.k.a The Jungle. Like Jumanji,

5 points that he touched on were referenced from Ps. Rick Warren's: Winning with the hand you're dealt with.
Chemistry, Connections, Circumstances, Consciousness and Choices! Five factors that will influence the way you live your life. Don't you already feel like you missed a lot? hehe

We moved on to sports after that:

We had basketball first,

Blue Team and Pink Team had a pretty intense match. We played for a short 10 mins and the score was 0-0 in the end!!! can you believe it!? One of the reasons were that both teams played good defense, another reason was cause the court was a little bit slippery.

Also cause this guy hogged the ball a lot :(

We also had mixed basketball where the girls got to get in on the action!

@iansleepy came to play too!

After that we had Captain ball, Frisbee, Athletics

It was intense! All teams did pretty well but the results were going to be announced tomorrow to see who gets into the finals. It was then time to get some rest and get ready for the night rally!
