FAVORITE ROADSIDE SNACKS!!!

Well well if you are from Africa or Uganda you all know there are always people selling roadside food or snacks in some areas. Some of the notorious areas in Uganda are Wandegeya where they sell the chicken which is grilled, kumbuzi as you are going to Gayaza where roasted goat meat is sold and that it is where it got its name from the activity carried out there.

Well let us get into the snacks. I really love popcorn and especially one that freshly made which one eats while it is still warm. Most people put out their machines in the evenings and some all day and make popcorn. I love it when enough salt is put in the popcorn because I enjoy it more. Truthfully there is a way popcorn made on the roadside is more crunchy than the one bought in shops and supermarkets.

My next favorite is fried cassava. I love love fried cassava especially if well salted, and ready very well inside and also crunchy. There is a time I used to have this everyday for breakfast and I love it tea. I put tomato sauce sometimes and it is the most delicious thing ever. I have tasted that fried cassava where they put spices like Royco on it how ever the problem I faced is that such cassava is normally squashy and soft yet I like it crispy.

Where are the meat lovers? Well we can all agree if you find really well done road side meat it is usually nice. However people have been careful not to eat it because some say it is dog meat, others mention that it is marabou stork meat or money therefore these myths have held some people back from eating such roasted meat. Places notorious for meat roasting in Uganda are Namawojolo in Jinja, Lukaya etc.

My other roadside food favorites are well done rolex with raw tomatoes and onions, musibatayi, meat samosas and well fried and crispy chips.
