SMPN 2 Lhokseumawe
This morning, Thursday, 23th October 2025, the school atmosphere felt a bit different. The first three hours were special, Classroom/Homeroom Teacher Time. During this session, each classroom teacher met their students to discuss class issues, talk about learning progress, and build stronger relationships. It’s a precious moment for students and teachers to reflect together.

Sitting in my room
Since I’m not a homeroom teacher this year, I decided to walk around the school. I was curious to see what was happening inside and outside the classrooms. And honestly, what I found amazed me.
At SMP Negeri 2 Lhokseumawe, learning is not limited to four walls. Education here goes beyond textbooks, chalkboards, and desks, it’s about experience, creativity, and connection.
This week, as I walked around the school, I saw something that made me proud as an educator. In every corner of our beloved school, learning was happening, not just inside classrooms, but everywhere.
Science Teacher were teaching in the yard
In the school yard, a group of students sat together on colorful mats under the shade of trees. Their notebooks were open, pens in hand, eyes full of curiosity. Their science teacher
@dederanggayoni guided them with gentle questions, allowing them to learn naturally from discussion and teamwork. The fresh air and open space created a more relaxed and joyful atmosphere, showing that learning can be fun and meaningful at the same time.

Ms.Yusra, Math teacher was teaching in library
Meanwhile, in the library, another class was engaged in a lively session. The students sat in small groups, discussing topics with enthusiasm while the Math teacher projected diagrams on the screen. Surrounded by shelves of books and quiet concentration, they weren’t just studying mathematics, they were also learning how to listen, cooperate, and share ideas. The library had transformed into a creative learning hub.
Ms.Nilawati, Art teacher was teaching in the Class
In another corner of the school, a group of students was practicing a traditional dance in class. Their movements were full of grace and energy, guided by the rhythm and the teacher’s encouragement. This wasn’t only about art, it was about building confidence, cultural appreciation, and teamwork. The joy on their faces showed how learning through art can build character and self-expression.

The art class
When I approached, the teacher smiled and said, “Sir, please take us a shoot.” Of course, I couldn’t resist capturing that beautiful moment of creativity and joy. The students proudly showed their styles and their laughter filled the air, another proof that learning can be colorful anywhere.

In another side of school, some classes continued their regular lessons. But even inside, the atmosphere was alive. Teachers interacted warmly with their students, creating an environment where every question was welcomed and every idea mattered. The green walls and bright curtains made the classrooms feel like a space of life, growth, and discovery.

All these moments reminded me that education is not confined by space, it is shaped by spirit. Whether in the library, the school yard, or the classroom, learning happens when teachers inspire and students engage.
SMP Negeri 2 Lhokseumawe continues to promote this approach, believing that every place can become a classroom, and every experience can be a lesson.

The Science teacher @dederanggayoni
Out of curiosity, I stopped by and had a short talk with the science teacher who was teaching her students in the school yard. She smiled and said that learning science outside the classroom helps students see and feel what they learn. “When they can touch the plants, observe the sky, or feel the sunlight, the lesson becomes more real for them,” she explained. I could see how excited the students were, asking questions and sharing their own ideas. It was a simple but powerful reminder that learning can happen anywhere.

Sitting on my desk and write this article
As I finished my short walk that morning, I smiled.
I realized that true learning doesn’t always need a whiteboard or a projector, sometimes it just needs curiosity, passion, and a teacher who believes.
Education is not only about teaching subjects, but also about shaping hearts and minds to see learning as a lifelong adventure.
And yes, at SMP Negeri 2 Lhokseumawe, that adventure happens every day, everywhere. Keep doing all your best for your students guys.
Thanks for reading..
