RE: SLC | S22W1 : Learning Through Play
Thanks for the assessment. I really appreciate and would love to answer your questions. First of all, this is a classroom setting. I integrated this learning through play as though but were in a classroom because it would be definitely crude is you bring local tools as a gaming strategy in a classroom. The owner of the school may sack you for this.
Secondly, you said this.... It's actually fine though
needs an explanation to the participants to make it easier to understand, so they will prefer the game without the tool.
But if you have watch the videos to the end, I don't see any reasons it would sound unclear, I mean the game I integrated. The game doesn't have a realistic name as though it's an idea brought forward to stimulate children.
The essence of this topic is to integrate play and play isn't necessarily games. You can play with a child without play games. I explained how this works in my videos and to me, I feel it's very much understandable.
I'm a little confused by the game without using the tools you describe. What's the name of the game? is it true, the game is to train memory.
I initiated three games in the course of this post and I mentioned specifically that only two out of the three games helps in active participation and listening while the last one that involved the use of tools was for memory retention.
So in all, this was a classroom setting and not just a learning process carried out anyway. In as much as this can be integrated in a classroom formally, It can take any turn and not necessarily the use of physical games as such may not be allowed in some schools. So we use what's available to us and Integrate the play. Thanks you again for the assessment.
I thought of dropping these answers to help you see it wasn't just an informal setting. So there are criterias involved to my not using the physical tools like Ayo or stones or sticks to initiate a game. The use of chalk, chairs, black board and my voice were the formal means of initiating play as external use may not be condone in some schools.

Hello @bossj23, thanks for the response.
First, you must understand that our teaching team must see all posts and provide input on things that may not have been understood and understood, If needed. Thank you for your response and response to follow-up questions from us.
Secondly, if you mention the name of the game specifically, there may not be any follow-up questions for you.
In your comment, we also have not found an answer about the name of the game, we just ask the name, because in your description you have explained how to play and the purpose of the game. But we can already conclude about the game.
Third, Formal or informal, one of the task points this week is "make your own version of the game that is useful for learning activities", you are free to be creative.
In the end, I am happy to hear from you, clarification is needed from a learning concept, in order to clarify something that may not be well understood, and you have done so.
