Taxibots on wheels to save fuel at airport!!

TaxiBot, a semi-robotic towing tractor, on Monday towed a SpiceJet aircraft to the runway, marking the first-time use of such a machine for a commercial aircraft in the country. It would help in saving fuel, reducing CO2 emissions as well as noise levels, according to officials.

It enable an aircraft to cover the distance from parking bay to the runway without switching on the engines.

Delhi airport is the world’s first recipient of this technology. It will help airlines save 213 liters of aviation fuel every day leading to a saving of $35 million annually for domestic carriers.

This advanced taxiing solution that is operationally efficient and environmentally-friendly.
