Pancit bihon at Inihaw Express
It was a lazy Sunday afternoon after taking photos from a Urban Jungle exhibit at the atrium of the mall, I went to the food court for merienda or a light meal.
Inihaw Express has fairly many diners lining up. I know they have many options so it is not surprising. I joined the line
There are many, countless I would say, options to choose from. Most ate for full meal but I know they have something for light meal as their promo board says so, "All day merienda."
While I was nearing the counter, a crew join the line next to me and asked what is my order. She was holding flap menus so I asked uf I can take a look. There is nothing mentioned on the menu about ala carte order for the pancit bihon. Pancit bihon is a Filipino variety of noodles and is usually sauteed.
The crew said it is not stated on the menu but I can order just it and not with the set meals.
The queue moved on and I finally came to the displayed noodles. There are only two options, palabok and bihon. I ordered bihon.
Wheny order was served, I can't help frowning. It looked so plain with only vegetables on top and no meat.
I asked the crew who served it, "are you sure that is your setving?"
She was looking at me blanky as if asking, "what's wrong with my serving?"
I answered her unspoken question.
"It looked so bland. Where are the meat toppings and the calamansi?"
As if she was awaken and without saying a word, she pivoted. She came back with my more tasteful order. That is what I like not just with waiters but with all service providers. They immediately heed.
With P69.00 (US $1.34) for a light meal, it was a bonus that the crew immediately added more ingredients to the bihon. That certainly made it more delicious.
