Enjoy some tofu & udon at Takinoya

Kiyomizudera is a very popular tourist destination if you are visiting Kyoto. When we went to visit there were people everyone. Trying to find somewhere to eat can be a bit challenging. As we were walking around, we found a popular place called Takinoya (滝の家) where they make really nice noodles and hot tofu. Many people come here just to try these two things.
The other thing that we like it here is we can sit on the floor in our little area enjoying our meal. As you can see, there are a number of tables like this and we were given the empty on pictured. There is also a pretty light on top of each table which was a nice decoration. There were only a handful of items on the menu which we didn’t take a photo of but we ordered the most popular hot tofu and udon with egg. There is also shaved us for summer weather too.
Our meal has arrived and we didn’t expect the tofu to be so big. We were thinking secretly lucky we only ordered the two things or we won’t be able to finish it. There is a syrup that comes with it so it can give your tofu a bit of taste. The tofu was very soft and fresh not like the ones you get from the supermarket. The udon was nice but I prefer the tofu as it was a little more special.
I cannot pin point the address on the map so this is the address: 1-302 Shimizu, Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto 605-0862, Kyoto Prefecture. It is very close to the famous Kiyomizu-dera.
