The restaurant on the lake
Traveling to the Monticchio Lakes, we had lunch at an inn near the lake called Mapalù. It is a pub built purely in wood immersed in the nature of the surrounding mountains. The owner made us sit in the inner room but near a large window from which it was possible to see the tourists walking and the lake in its greatness.
They served us a welcome appetizer that conveyed the aromas of the local cuisine: cheeses, cold cuts and vegetables. Truly exceptional and intense flavors, bright colors and heady scents. After the appetizer, the waiter served us a plate of fresh pasta with minced meat, mushrooms and rocket.
After a pause with a small walk to aid digestion, we closed our lunch with slices of barbecued pork and fries. We got up from the table with a very full stomach and the owner offered us a liqueur with chestnuts and coffee.

Ci sono stato diverse volte a Monticchio...il posto è incantevole, purtroppo la gestione di alcuni locali e strutture lascia un pò a desiderare...ma ripeto il posto è molto bello e ha tanto potenziale.
Bella recensione mi hai fatto venire voglia di tornarci.

Sull'organizzazione ti do pienamente ragione. Il giorno in cui siamo andati noi c'era un mare di gente e non ti nascondo che un ristoratore voleva fregarci. Comunque qui abbiamo trovato buon cibo, disponibilità ed una bella vista.
