Xiaolongbao: Incredibly Delicious Soup Dumplings
Xiaolongbao are small soup dumplings. If you've never had them before, it's like a regular dumpling with a tasty soup inside. Xiaolongbao originated in Taiwan so you can find some amazing spots even at carts rights on teh street.
They are "xiao" because they are small bites. Since there's soup inside, you need to eat the whole thing at once rather than taking several bites from the dumpling.
Xiaolongbao is a popular dish that originated in Tawian and can come in all types of different flavors. The most popular flavor is crab & pork. My personal favorite is the crab roe and pork. That's crab eggs, but they're more delicious than it sounds!
In local Taiwanese Night Markets, you can find Xiaolongbao for $3-4USD. It's something they charge 4-5x more at the very popular (and also delicious) Din Tai Fung.
