Tasteem Review, The Exquisite Javanese Cuisine
I was extremely craving for something exotic and spicy, so I thought about having Indonesian food. When it comes to that type of food, nothing beats the simple but delicious Javanese food.
So, I took my family out for lunch at Putatan Town, about 15 minutes ride from Kota Kinabalu City. The name of the restaurant is "Warung Padang Jawa".
There are two things in my mind to order whenever I went to that restaurant. I will either have Nasi Ayam Penyet or Nasi Ikan Keli, those are their special menus.
It is hard to decide, but I finally chose to have Nasi Ikan Keli. ts a deep fried catfish as its main dish and some raw vegetables as its side dish. The most eminent part of this dish is the spicy sambal. The dish won't be complete without it in my opinion.
The Nasi Ayam Penyet is the same as the Nasi Ikan Keli, the only difference is they used Deep Fried Chicken instead of Catfish. This is my second favourite dish after the Nasi Ikan Keli.
For drinks, we ordered this Iced Milky Tea, Iced Black Coffee and Hot Chocolate.
The inside of the the restaurant is nice and cosy. They uses ceiling fans to cool the air inside. The only downturn is its a bit dim inside. I don't know why they didn't turned on the interior lights.
Anyway, the price for the foods and drinks are reasonable as you can see from the pictures below. I end up paying RM31.00 or USD7.60 for our foods and drinks.

Did you try the gado-gado?
Since sa pindah pi KK, lama sa ndak makan gado-gado oo.. kinda miss the food.
I'm not sure if I ever tried it before. Will try it next time.
