Recomendations of books written by indie authors

in #books7 years ago

As you may know, when I read an e-book, I review it on Goodreads and then on my Wordpress blog "El Vickablog". Sometimes I review those books on English since I've read them in that language, more if are written by indie authors. So today, while I was making some research for my novel and the next issue of "Mythological Notes", I've decided to share the books that I've read and that I think some of you would like to read them.

So, here we go:

1. The Eighth Day Brotherhood by Alice M. Phillips

This book got me in my sit a whole Sunday, LITERALLY. I loved the atmosphere, the characters,  the historical context where the storyline develops, and how the author mixes religion, myth and art to give that sensation of living in 1880's Paris. I highly recommend it for the fans of the thriller and mystery genres.

2. Flight 12 to Rome by Gary Ponzo

If you are fan of the crime and action genres, then this book is for you, specially if you like dynamic stories. Believe me: You will not stand up from your sit until you finish the whole book, wanting to know what is the next thing that would going to happen to the hero.

3. Dark Alley: Stranger, by D. S. Wrights

If you are fan of the erotic novel, this short story, which is the first part of a large saga, is for you. Sensuality at its full, with erotic scenes very well written... And inviting you to think all day about who invited the girl to that place!

4. Kill Screen, by Benjamin Reeves

If you like science fiction and suspense, then you must read this book. This one would make you think about everything related to softwares and hardwares, about how possible would be to develop something that would acquire a life of its own.

5. 44 Chapthers about 4 Men, by B. B. Easton

Erotism and comedy in a same place! Great for those married couples that want to add some spice to their lifes. Believe me, if it works for the girl, why not give it a try? ;)

5. Out in the Open, by A. J. Truman

Do you like some cliché characters in a very good story? Specially if those cliché charcaters are of the same sex? Well, then you must read this jewel of a book! Like B.B's book, it has comedy and erotism, with drama and lots of sweetness as an add.

6. The Bad Seed, by Michael Lackey

Are you a J. R. R. Tolkien, G. R. R. Martin, and also manga fan? Then you must check this beauty of a book. A very solid story about a battle for the heaven, with original characters that you'll love so much, with a lot of infuence from the authors and genre mentioned before. A very good read for a vacation or on free times.

7. Dead Things series, by Martina McAtee

This saga is one of the best I've ever read in the fantastic genre, and, I have to confess, my model and inspiration when it comes to know what are talking about when you are writing a novel. Like Michael Lackey's book, these stories are very solid, with a storyline that make you want to know what would happen with the characters, and learn more about fantastical creatures like faes, reapers, werewolves, vampires, etc.

By the way, a novella from this saga, Loving You with Teeth and Claws, is coming out this year!

Hope you enjoy these books! See ya!
