Sketchbook Tip: Drawing from Memory an Action Pose Sequence

Drawing from memory takes practice. In the video below I share a simple exercise to help you visualize better and draw what you visualize more efficiently. This is another episode in my series "Our Daily Sketch" where I hope to inspire you to pick up pen or pencil and start draqing. An action pose is perfect to get the creative wheels turning. It is challenging enough to make you really think before marking the paper. While I always encourage to use reference especially when starting out, training visual memory is also an important skill--one that I need to get better with. Remember, a sketchbook is the place for experimentation, don't be afraid to fail--miserably--because that is success in my book.

This was awesome! Thanks so much for taking the time to make this video @siloe "don't be afraid to fail..." is key!

Thanks friend! Thanks for taking time to watch it.

Thank you so much for this post. I just finished an art course so found it very interesting. So far I've mainly painted landscapes on my own so help with figure drawing is much appreciated. Following you now.
