Introduction: Sco, an austrian scientist with a broad range of interests

Hello Steemians!

Another new face has arrived. I am Sco, 33, a sporting, fantasy-reading, series-watching, crypto-owning, cooking, beer-drinking, politically interested, critical-thinking and only slightly cynical father from Austria, who happens to be a professional scientist (post doc in food toxicology). And now a blogger as well. Yes, I am generally not bored.^^

So why am I here albeit the systematic lack of time? Part of it is that I always enjoyed writing and also publishing. The idea to share the ideas and also the errors of my mind with others. And steemit seems to have a really nice rewarding system, so instead of just donating texts/pictures to facebook and its advertising machine, you actually get something back. And in crypto! I like that a lot. I also love controversy. As a scientist, I am educated and used to hard, but fact-based discussions. To have those, you need a respectful atmosphere and from what I heard steemit has that kind of community. I will definitely give it a try.

I think I will start by writing a series of posts on science-based topics, maybe tackling some myths around food (e.g. “Is organic food really healthier?”), and we’ll see where that takes us. Stay tuned!
