An Eclectic
I found a word that I would ascribe to myself. That word is an eclectic (noun) which can be defined as below:
a person who derives ideas, style, or taste from a broad and diverse range of sources.
An eclectic can be thought as a person seeking a 'jack-of-all trades' approach to the world and its infinite knowledge. There is no doubt that the eclectic loves to read, otherwise where else could they have gotten their knowledge? Especially in today's digital informational age, a person could search one topic and find a way to relate it to another and next find themselves embarking on a network of 20 tabs of Wikipedia articles and some research papers from multiple google search queries with the right keywords, just to answer one interesting question they thought up themselves. The eclectic wants as much impartial data and information, so they opt for the "shoot me with all perspectives and angles approach".
Their ideas come from a recognition of many patterns they've encountered which inspire that same idea to be implemented or modified to work in another existing system.
They understand that each person has their own mode of expression and thought. They desire to see and experience the world in many perspectives.
They are rarely satisfied with the answers given to them and usually end up asking more questions.
In some sense, everyone is a eclectic to a varying degree. Let me know how you see the definition of the word and how you would use it to describe yourself.
This is my first blog post, so I'm curious how this will turn out.
