My introduction post.

Hey everyone!

My name is Myles. I'm a 31 year old truck driver, a husband to a wonderful woman, father of 2 awesome children, and have a passion for fitness!

My family!

Right, so as I mentioned I drive a
tractor trailer, and am fortunate enough
to work for a company that has me home
every single night, so although I tend
to work long hours I still see my family every day.
My passion for fitness actually stemmed out of necessity. I had been working a very physically demanding job (for the same company I'm still with) for about 4 years so it offset my terrible diet and habitual drinking habit. But when I eventually moved to the transport department and simultaneously quit smoking I gained 13 or so pounds in about 3 months! I consider myself lucky for catching the issue before it got further out of hand.
I have been considering making a journal or blog not only to keep up with my newly found interest in the strongman style training (even though I'm only 5'6", 160lb LOL), and your typical PR's and what not, but also because any time someone I meet asks where I train, its always the same response when I tell them I train at home. "How on earth do you find motivation to lift at home when the tv is right there?!"
If this blog does nothing but inspire at least 1 person, I'll be satisfied. I will also post random family stuff I'm sure, but that's just a given considering I'm a family man.
Thank you for taking your time out to read through this, if you stuck it out this far! I'm excited to hopefully meet some great Steemers!

Hey Myles!
Glad you can combine family, work and fitness training all together! I really hope I will achieve that as well - so I might use you as an inspiration!
Just resteemed you via @welcoming where you can meet other promising newbies!
Greets!

Thanks @theaustrianguy! I appreciate that so much! I'll absolutely try my best to post content people can learn from and implement into their own training!

Looking forward to it!

Awesome, welcome!

Welcome to steemit and you got a beatiful family!

Welcome to steemit! I am looking forward to reading more from you. Will you be posting your workouts?

I was considering it, if people were genuinely interested in seeing them! Or at the very least maybe posting a top set and some conditioning work.

I would definitely be interested! I workout at the gym but I am always looking to add something to my routine that I can do at home

Awesome ok I'll definitely be posting some stuff then.

Hey Myles, nice to meet you!
Thanks for giving us a glimpse into your life and who you are.
Looking forward to reading more of you.
I mentioned you here and hope to send more upvotes and followers your way.

Thank you!! I appreciate any help I can get lol!

I can feel that same passion for fitness ; i used to be 300 lb - and i am now down to 160, i used to run every day and swim for at least 8 hours a day with both workouts combined .
But as for me i actually have recently started my own business, helping other people start their own business ; so far no income, just helping out family and friends ; starting up youtube and twitch accounts and gaining subscribers ; others have started affiliate market places on other social media platforms, and one is even currently writing her second book about spirituality while her first one is being typed up and published .

I have now started working out from home, just doing resistance training and such ; one good tip i can give, buy a set of leg weights, put them on while doing random activities, youll never skip leg day again !
LOL !

Anyway sir ; welcome to the platform, i feel like you will love the community - and i usually post this picture because it works so well !

Dude that is freaking awesome! Do you train at home typically? And good call about some leg weights, I need to get some of those lol

Welcome onboard, Myles. You got a beautiful family. What are your kids and pets name? Now that is a news, that you train at home. I will look forward to reading from you. Have fun training and posting about your family. One last thing, we are called Steemians. Steem On! :)

Thank you! My kids are Lola and Oliver, and the dogs are Kona (white dog) and Roy. And yes, training at home is great! I have privacy to try new things I may have felt a little embarrassed about or felt I looked silly trying to learn at a packed gym and also I have control of the radio 😊 thanks again!

You are welcome and your kids have got beautiful names. Thank you for a detailed reply. Have fun. :)

Haha! Thank you, @hiyo. I'm excited to be here

Welcome! Nice to have you!
