Hey Steemians, thought I'd say hi!

Hi everyone! As it’s customary for new Steemians to introduce themselves, here is a bit about me and what you can expect to see from my posts.

My name is Matt and I’m a graphic designer from London with a passion for street photography, technology and geek culture. I like to write a bit about all of them and here’s a bit of background as to why.

Street Photography

Photography is what I love, especially in urban environments. I spend a lot of time walking the streets of London taking in my surroundings and documenting people and their interactions through the city. It’s fascinating to me how you can stand in same spot every day and find a different story every time. The street is teeming with life and commentary as societal factors can often be reflected through people's behaviour and photography helps to capture these snapshots of time for future review and dissection.

Design

First and foremost I’m a designer and have been in the industry for 15 years. One of the most compelling parts of design is its constant evolution, and remaining versatile is compulsory if you want to stay on the field. (The designs above are concepts for an app design I'm working on)

Technology

Design and technology are often closely related whether through tools we use or the platforms on which our creations are delivered. For me, I have a real interest in how design influences not only how we interact with technology, but also how it overcomes challenges that are posed by different platforms.

Geek Culture

When it comes to entertainment, the more escapist the better. Whether it’s superhero movies, sci-fi tv or post-apocalyptic graphic novels, I like them all - and any recommendations are welcome!

So, that’s a brief overview of who I am and the content I may publish. I’m looking forward to getting involved with the community and entering into discussions with you fellow Steemians.
