CALABOZO SUNSETS | ATARDECERES DE CALABOZO
I was born in Calabozo. This little city used to be the capital of Guárico state, and it holds the biggest dam of Venezuela, named Generoso Campilongo. This dam was inaugurated in 1957 by the president Marcos Pérez Jiménez. Once you arrive to Calabozo, this majestic carpet of water welcomes your eyes with its elegant vastness and beauty.
Although to be hundred porcent honest, I've never felt like I belong here. I mean the heat and the humidity are suffocating, the sun burns your skin and there are few entertainments, however, there's something really magical about this land, something I adore with my soul, and that is the beautiful sunsets.
So today I wanted to make a little compilation of sunsets I've portrayed... I hope you like them.
Nací en Calabozo. Esta pequeña ciudad, que antaño fue la capital del estado Guárico, ostenta la represa más grande de Venezuela, el embalse Generoso Campilongo, el cual fue inaugurado en el año 1957 por el presidente Marcos Pérez Jiménez. Una vez que llegas a Calabozo, esta majestuosa alfombra de agua da la bienvenida a tus ojos con su elegante vastedad y belleza.
Aunque para ser cien por ciento franca, nunca he sentido que pertenezco aquí. El calor y la humedad son asfixiantes, el sol te abrasa la piel y hay pocos entretenimientos, sin embargo, hay algo realmente mágico en esta tierra, algo que adoro con mi alma, y son sus bellísimas puestas de sol.
Hoy quise hacer una pequeña compilación de atardeceres que he retratado... Espero que te gusten.
