Esta fotografía tomada un par de años atrás, corresponde al edificio sede del Rectorado de la Universidad Centroccidental Lisandro Alvarado, máxima casa de estudios de la región y se encuentra ubicada en la Carrera 19 con Calle 8 de la ciudad de Barquisimeto, diagonal a la Plaza Macario Yépez, la cual he compartido en publicaciones anteriores.

Anteriormente, esta edificación alojaba al Hotel Nueva Segovia, inaugurado en el año 1952 con motivo de los festejos por el cuatricentenario de la fundación de la ciudad, sin embargo y a pesar de contar con todas las comodidades propias de un establecimiento de primera, cerraría sus puertas pocos años después, para ser destinado al recién fundado Centro Experimental de Estudios Superiores (C.E.D.E.S), el cual cambiaría su nombre a Universidad de la Región Centroccidental en 1967, y posteriormente en 1997 obtendría el nombre con el que se le conoce en la actualidad, en honor a este célebre hombre pionero de distintas profesiones.

En 2005, la fachada oeste fue intervenida con un mural de 224m² del artista plástico venezolano Virgilio Arrieta, el cual fue realizado sobre cerámica y es uno de los más grandes de Venezuela ubicado a la vista de todos los transeúntes de la ciudad.

La fotografía original fue tomada a color y posteriormente modificada con las herramientas que proporciona el editor de imágenes PicsArt. En esta oportunidad, y como lo he descrito en publicaciones anteriores, utilicé una superposición de filtros, comenzando con un filtro del tipo HDR (High Dynamic Range) con la finalidad de ampliar los tonos de la imagen original, y posteriormente un filtro sencillo de Blanco & Negro.

This photograph taken a couple of years ago, corresponds to the headquarters building of the Rectorate of the "Lisandro Alvarado" Central Western University, the highest house of studies in the region and is located in Carrera 19 with Calle 8 in the city of Barquisimeto, diagonal to the Macario Yépez Square, which I have shared in previous publications.

Previously, this building housed the Nueva Segovia Hotel, opened in 1952 on the occasion of the celebrations for the four hundred-year anniversary of the foundation of the city, however and despite having all the comforts of a first-class establishment, it would close its doors a few years later, to be destined to the newly founded Experimental Center for Higher Studies (CEDES), which would change its name to University of the Central-Western Region in 1967, and later in 1997 it would obtain the name by which he knows him today, in honor of this famous pioneer man of different professions.

In 2005, the west facade was intervened with a mural of 224m² of the Venezuelan plastic artist Virgilio Arrieta, which was made on ceramics and is one of the largest in Venezuela located in sight of all the passers-by of the city .

The original photograph was taken in color and subsequently modified with the tools provided by the image editor PicsArt. On this occasion, and as I have described in previous publications, I used an overlay of filters, starting with a filter of the type HDR (High Dynamic Range) in order to expand the tones of the original image, and then a simple White filter & Black.
