En publicaciones anteriores, he compartido fotografías exteriores de la Basílica Menor de Santa Rosa de Lima, un templo católico ubicado en el poblado de Santa Rosa al extremo oriental de la ciudad de Barquisimeto. Esta edificación que fuese construida a mediados del Siglo XVIII para evangelizar a los indígenas que vivían en los alrededores, y que fuese reconstruida posteriormente, luego de que resultase prácticamente destruida por el terremoto que azotara el 26 de marzo de 1812, gran parte del territorio venezolano, particularmente las poblaciones de Caracas, La Guaira, Mérida, El Tocuyo y San Felipe, ante lo cual, El Libertador Simón Bolívar exclamaría: “¡Si la naturaleza se opone, lucharemos contra ella y haremos que nos obedezca!”, en respuesta a los frailes y sacerdotes que se oponían a la gesta libertaria en la cual se encontraba el país, y que interpretaban aquel fenómeno natural como un castigo divino.

En esta oportunidad, comparto una fotografía del interior de la iglesia, donde puede apreciarse a plenitud la arquitectura colonial de aquel entonces, donde destacan los arcos que soportan el techo del templo. Al final de la imagen, puede verse en la parte superior del altar, el nicho que sirve para alojar la imagen de la Divina Pastora, protagonista de una procesiones marianas mas grandes del mundo, cuando cada 14 de enero, sale en hombros de los feligreses en un recorrido de siete kilómetros y medio que la conducirá hasta la Catedral Metropolitana de Barquisimeto, para luego recorrer todas y cada una de las parroquias de la ciudad hasta su regreso a su hogar en Santa Rosa, donde permanecerá hasta el mes de enero del próximo año.

La imagen original, y la cual presento al final de la publicación, la realicé en escala de grises, opción que me permite el teléfono móvil que poseo, para luego hacer uso de las herramientas de edición que presenta la aplicación PicsArt hasta lograr resaltar aquellas características que a mi juicio le agregan valor a la foto.

On this occasion, I share a photograph of the interior of the church, where you can fully appreciate the colonial architecture of that time, which highlights the arches that support the roof of the temple. At the end of the image, you can see at the top of the altar, the niche that serves to house the image of the Divina Pastora, protagonist of a larger Marian processions of the world, when every January 14, it comes out on the shoulders of the parishioners in a seven-and-a-half-kilometer tour that will take her to the Metropolitan Cathedral of Barquisimeto, and then go through each and every one of the parishes of the city until her return to her home in Santa Rosa, where she will stay until the month of January next year.
