The Meaning of A True Relationship
When it comes to any decision, be it choosing a career, friends or a life partner, our emotions and feelings have always been our priority. Even though at times we don’t realize it, they play a very important role in our life.
Even in relationships, our emotions and feelings play the most important role as we listen to the heart rather than our brains.
Every one of us dreams of a perfect love life and a perfect relationship. But we fail to make one, because we start loving with conditions and start listening to our brains rather than the heart.
Things We Don’t Realize
“Perfect Relationship” is where two imperfect people, make a perfect match. Beyond all the flaws and weakness, loving and accepting as they are.
There is a saying, ”Be with someone who makes you a better person”. Making someone better and changing them according to our conditions are two different things. Understanding this difference is really important to maintain a perfect relationship. It’s all about unconditional love, basically.
We forget to be grateful and take our relationship for granted. And then we start to complain for the things and changes we notice in our partner over time. But, we don’t realize those changes occur due to ourself, the lack of commitment and effort that we should put in the relationship, just as we do in the beginning.
Changing Your Perception About The Perfect Relation
We live in the 21st century where we believe in gender equality, but why do we forget that when it comes to a relationship? Why do we expect only a guy that he should make his girl feel special? Even we girls should make them feel special. Effort should be made from both sides, expecting from only one will definitely worsen the situation.
We think a relationship is all about adjustments, but in reality it’s about commitment. How committed you are to your partner, defines your relation status.
There are ups and downs in everything, even in relationships, but if two people really love each other, and are committed to each other, they will make it work. If something is broken, we don’t throw it away, we try to fix it. So, we need to do the same in our relationships as well.

Yes, obviously they do work, as all relationships are based on core foundation of trust. In fact in long distance relationships both try to give more efforts, which makes the relation stronger.
I completely agree that commitment is very important to a successful relationship. You will always encounter rough patches, but it's more important how you and your significant other approach the problem than the actual problem itself.
The thing is that whenever problems arises in life, we tend to make it blow out of proportions which creates more tension between the two people. We should remain calm in such situations and then try to find the solutions...:))

Relationships are about improvising. You can't always just plan things out and expect everything to go smoothly. You have to except the fact that both individuals are complex creatures and take a lot of time to be fully understood.
And the part about why it shouldn't always be the guy who invests in the relationship is so true too! It's funny how people judge a guy when he says the exact same thing.

This life has made us wait for one or the other things; there is no gratification in any phase of life. We are dragging this empty life without any purpose and meaning. It is too late when we realize the significance of life’s purpose.
Life is beautiful. It is precious and even though life sometimes makes us wait for the truly great things, the wait becomes worth it when you finally have them. I think the purpose of life is to find the purpose of your life. So, just keep looking and enjoy this life.
