Slimed!!! at the Slime Cup Run

My family and I had the privilege today to become

2K Finishers a.k.a. Certified Nicksters

at the Nickelodeon Slime Cup run at Mckinley West,Taguig. Woot!woot!

We were with the 2nd wave of starters at 6:30 am which was pretty early for my kiddos. Here they are hyped up to start racing.

During the race they were excited to encounter the obstacles I assume were advertised while they were watching their favorite Nick shows because they knew what they were even before the race.

Last year my daughter watched the tv ad for the recently completed Slime Cup run and she said she so wanted to be there. I'm just a happy mom to be fulfilling that goal with her. Both of them basically wanted to see the slime.

Here are the obstacles:

*Bikini Bottom Cleanup Pipes with Spongebob and Patrick
*Timmy Turner's Magical Ball Mills
*The Awesome Filtration System by Alvin and the Chipmunks

We stopped a few times to take some selfies along the way but about 500m before reaching the finish line, our kiddos were already asking for piggyback rides.

We finished in an hour and ten minutes, not bad for last minute piggyback riders. They were sooo tired they didn't want a photo op as clearly obvious in our finish photo, but dad insisted.

First run accomplished !

By this time they were like;
---"Where's the Slime?"
---"Did we miss it?"
---"Why is it even called a Slime cup run, mommy?"

Tadaan!

Such happy faces! All the while I was thinking about how I would get all these green stuff off our clothes. It was all worth it - waking up sooo early to get them fed and ready and carrying a 17kg kid on my back for about half a kilometer. Those smiles washed away the aching pain in my calves.

We stayed a bit after the run to enjoy some coloring pages from the Despicable Me 3 booth. We almost bought tickets at the Paw Patrol booth where tickets were at 50% off for their show next weekend. We stayed a bit to watch Chase and Marshall dance around but the kiddos were too tired to stay.

I hope the Slime Cup run will become our yearly tradition. I hope they enjoy it until they grow out of it. Kids need to be kids and have fun while they're at it.
