A la luz de las velas

Some time ago I was testing the effects of direct light with a lamp and a candle, both results are gloomy, the penumbra gives a dark touch in the picture, marks and hardens the facial features and partially illuminates depending on where the focus of light is placed.

The candle however has a warm and soft touch that makes the photo an almost romantic image (in terms of classic photography) the light is hard and direct, leaves no brightness anywhere other than the elements closest to it, there is no rebound, no reflection, is an intriguing image that can hold mystery and suspense.

Hace un tiempo estuve probando los efectos de la luz directa con una lámpara y una vela, ambos resultados son lúgubres, la penumbra da un toque tenebroso en la fotografía, marca y endurece los rasgos faciales e ilumina parcialmente dependiendo de donde se coloque el foco de luz.

La vela sin embargo tiene un toque cálido y suave que hace de la foto una imagen casi romántica (en términos de fotografía clásica) la luz es dura y directa, no deja brillo en ningún otro lugar que no sean los elementos más cercanos a ella, no hay rebote, ni reflejo, es una imagen intrigante que puede encerrar misterio y suspenso.
