Hola a toda la comunidad, el Covid-19 es un virus que tiene predilección por las células pulmonares, provocando dificultad para respirar y comprometer al organismo, aunque la mayoría de los contagiados se manifiesta como un resfriado común, hay un grupo vulnerable según los reportes de la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS).

Se ha determinado que los pacientes mayores de 80 años es el grupo etareo con más mortalidad.

Se ha asociado la mortalidad del covid-19 a 5 enfermedades, que se han diagnósticado como casos de vigilancia permanente.

La mortalidad en pacientes contagiados, sin ninguna enfermedad sistémica es muy baja.

Los adultos mayores por su proceso degenerativo fisiológico, su sistema inmunológico es débil, y si lo asociamos a enfermedades de base o sistémicas es caldo de cultivo para la complicación del virus y su mortandad.

Tomemos conciencia, si tenemos familiares adultos mayores o con alguna de estas enfermedades asociadas a la mortalidad del covid-19, debemos hacer un cerco para protegerlos por ser personas vulnerables.

El % de mortalidad en pacientes contagiados con covid-19, que no tienen enfermedades de base es muy bajo, la preocupación es que en el grupo familiar o de contacto exista una persona con vulnerabilidad, de allí el cuidado extremo para evitar más complicaciones y más muertes.

Controlar el virus, es parte de la responsabilidad de cada uno de nosotros, en asumir las medidas de higiene establecidas como: evitar aglomeraciones, el lavado frecuente de las manos, no tocarse la nariz, la cara y los ojos con las manos sucias, desinfectar el área de trabajo o donde se encuentre frecuentemente, en caso de tener síntomas colocarse el tapaboca para evitar contagiar a los demás.
