Finding The Time

I have been a member of Steem for almost 6 months now and have not taken advantage of the platform. I have acquired some Steem from an exchange recently and thought I would try to find the time to post some interesting stuff here on Steem. So I guess the first thing I should do is tell you a little about myself.

I guess the best place to start is to tell you how I found Steem in the first place. I was watching a youtuber named Jerry banfield,Thank you Jerry, I got inspired to give the platform a try. So here i am

I have been on a platform that turned out to be a scam known as Empowr. I spent a few years on this platform and because of the ambiguity to that platform it took me sometime to figure out it was a big scheme. I participated with many articles and posts and actually built up my earning very high. but as I discovered the more you tried to reach a point to remove your money it turned out you ended up putting more into it than you could pull out. the ethics involved in the platform started to become clear once I started the training program. this isn't about Empowr so i will leave it here. I did end up pulling out and lost everything I built over the few yrs i was involved. That was almost a year ago.

I just recently deleted my Facebook acount just because I started to see facebook trying to manipulate the information people were sharing and I am not interested in censorship at all. Now I do not have an outlet so here I am. I am hoping this turn platform brings me the satisfaction I could not find elsewhere. I am hoping steem implement a video platform and once that happens I will probably stop using Google Youtube platform. I do not have a tv so youtube is a big part of my online experience at the moment. I use youtube in many different ways that include entertainment , how too videos, and research. i also have account at a few other video platforms but youtube is a giant and is usually more reliable and easier to find what your looking for, that is unfortunate. I don't think any platform should have such a monopoly and look forward to another option that is as useful.

So now you know how I came to be a Steem member, now I will tell you alittle about me and what you might expect to find when you come across my posts. My real world career is as a contractor/builder, more specifically I am a custom stair carpenter.

I have had many careers throughout my fifty years of life including being an ASE Certified Diesel Mechanic. That was a great job and I have been turning wrenches since before I could drive. My father was a carpenter so I have always gone back to swinging a hammer when I didn't have work but for the last 20 years it has been full time. I have always believed if you are going to do something do it to the best of your ability and if nothing else love what you do or get out and do something else. that is actually why I stopped being a mechanic. I stopped enjoying the work. I was only a professional mechanic for a short time of my working career compared to being a carpenter. I think I was always a carpenter trying to be something else. One of my other passions in life was as a creative. weather it be drawing or digital art , graphics and I love building web pages.

I have recently started my journey down the javascript rabbit hole. I have always been kind of a hack with code. my love of websites started way back when myspace started. I loved playing with the themes and creating and digging into the code changing things and learning how to hack myspace. I decided recently to really learn how to code instead of just hacking it. I figure when i can't swing a hammer anymore I can sit and code until i cant see or use my hands any more. hopefully why into the future.

My political views my be another outlet i choose to share here on Steem. I have some strong beliefs about my creator My freedom and my health. I Became a christian when I was only 21 and have been on that journey ever since and have a greater understanding of life because of that walk. I attended church at one point when I was younger and married but have found that there are so many lost individuals in church leadership and got frustrated with the direction of most of the fellowships I was a part of. My journey as a christian for the last 15 yrs has been more about creating personal relationships and sharing and having fellowship on a one on one basis. The one thing I am not ashamed of is my believe or my creator but I do not believe in beating people over the head with my beliefs. however when the door is opened to share I am very passionate and not intimidated because, I truly believe everyone should know what I know.

As far as politics goes, at my core I am an anarchist, however that is not realistic unfortunately, I feel people are to lazy and fearful to ever have a world that represent any kind of anarchist society. My comment is not meant to offend but I may, It is based on history. the very first story that baffled me was from the bible. when I read about noah and the exodus and read that the israelites begged for a leader. right then they had a perfect anarchist society but chose to give it up because they felt lost and needed a leader. and societies ever since have done about the same by either letting a corrupt person to take charge or sought to have someone be in charge. Since i am not interested in taking charge or forcing anyone to be under me I have accepted the idea of a government as limited as possible unlike what we have these days.

Just a footnote the word government literally meant to govern or control the mind but that is another post for another day.

I love words and learning unlike when i was a kid. I believe words are the most important code to understand and use correctly. Words are very precise if you look deep into them. Word create Vibrations. Words and math are the same but different maybe we will talk about that on another post as well. For now i think that is enough to kick of my Steem journey maybe i will get some comment that will lead me in what direction i will go. I have set out a number of things in this post i can use to go into so many deep rabbit holes only the future will reveal in which hole we travel down first.

For Now I wish all my new friends and soon to be friends a good night i have an early morning and a busy week, i just tore the roof of a customers house off and now I am going to fight the weather trying to get the second floor build and roof on and weathertight.
