Ryu- Street Fighter- Learn to Draw with Friends Tutorial

This is my tutorial for Ryu of the Street Fighter game :

Down + Toward on the D-pad & punch button = HADOUKEN

Ok, I'm just kidding, but being a kid from the 80s, I sure spent a lot of money and time playing Street Fighter 2.
Who knows if I can make some back.....

Here's my tutorial on drawing in pencil Ryu from Street Fighter 5.

The first part of the drawing you should sketch, lightly, the basic proportions of your character.
I know usually artists don't like Math, but if you get this part right, you won't have to go back and erase all the details you spent hours to depict, because on arm is shorter than the other.

In this case I took the head as measurment unit, and I multiplied it times 3 to get the size of the body, and times 2 plus change to determine the width of the shoulders.

Always remember to put your subject in the center of the paper.

Then I started drawing the main features to have some reference points while I go on.
Ryu has forearms bigger than quads and more ripped than Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Now I start adding some tone to all the image. I drew the belt and the bandana freely and I might add some colored pencils in this time.

Then I start adding some shading and using the eraser to put some light points, but just for reference.

Now I start using colored pencils. It's the first time since elementary school. I always used fifferent mediums to color my pictures, and I must say, I don't like colored pencils very much: They seem never to cover completely the paper and they take forever to erase, but mixing them with other colors and using a circular movement you can get the work done.

And now we are almost done. I'm going the use the black colored pencil to give the drawing even more depth and contrast and I will add some more details and fix the shading up.
