Inside of the Salt Mine Wieliczka in Poland at the Steemfest³!
Hey dear Steemians,
in this article I want to give you more information about the Salt Mine Wieliczka and I will show you the first photo impressions from inside this huge salt mine.
The Salt Mine Wieliczka is is currently one of Poland's official national Historic Monuments, is located in the town of Wieliczka in southern Poland and lies within the Kraków metropolitan area. This salt mine was opened in the 13th century and it´s one of the world's oldest salt mines in operation. It produced table salt continuously until 2007 and was run by the Żupy krakowskie Salt Mines company. Commercial mining was discontinued in 1996, because of salt prices going down and also mine flooding.
After we walked down the 380 stairs down to the upper part of the mine in 64 meter depth, we had a very interesting tour with our private guide for each group and we went deeper and deeper in the mine. The deepest part of the mine is 340 meters.
Here are the first fascinating photo impressions of inside the salt mine:
Stay tuned for the next part and hear you everyone!
