This is Freistaat and his Bavarian Stories

Hi, I'm Freistaat.

I love to go by this name, because it stands for the topic I do most of my post on. Freistaat means Free State. And it's especially linked to the Free State of Bavaria.

I'm going to show you the beauty of my home region, especially the alps. You'll find stories about facts and interesting people, habits, cities and traditions of Bavaria. It's so much more than just the Oktoberfest! And I will post some off-topic stuff too. I hope you'll find it interesting.

I must not forget to introduce Mable to you. She's my faithful companion on our adventures. And she's the best dog one could imagine. My wife and I adopted her from an animal shelter in Ingolstadt at the age of six months.

Please forgive me, if I make mistakes in English. My mother tongue is German. But I love blogging in English and I do appreciate hints if I should use an expression wrongly.

By profession I'm a journalist working in the PR sector. And I live near the Bavarian capital Munich. But this blog is just a private project. Telling stories is my passion. So welcome to my Bavarian Stories!
