MI MANDALA ELEFANTE / MY ELEPHANT MANDALA

¡Buenas tardes Steemit! Por fin he acabado uno de los mandalas que llevaba tiempo pintando. Como podéis observar, se trata de un mandala un tanto especial. ¡Es un mandala en forma de elefante!

Good afternoon Steemit! I've finally finished one of the mandalas that had been long painting. As you can see, it's a somewhat special mandala. It's a mandala in the form of elephant!

Hace aproximadamente dos meses que este precioso mandala llegó a mis manos, cosa me encantó. Desde el primer momento, supe que me iba a llevar su tiempo ya que, por una parte, se trata de un mandala de grandes dimensiones y, por otra parte, a mi me gusta hacer las cosas bien. Podría decirse que soy un tanto perfeccionista, aunque sin obsesiones. 

About two months ago that this beautiful mandala came into my hands, thing that I loved. From the first moment, I knew that I was going to take your time because, on the one hand, it is a mandala of great dimensions and, on the other hand, I like to do things right.You could say I'm a perfectionist, but without obsessions.

Como ya vais observando a lo largo de mis artículos, soy una persona apasionada con el arte en todas sus formas y creo que todo lo que tiene que ver con crear, pintar, dibujar, escribir, escuchar... tiene que estar continuamente cerca de mi y mis quehaceres.

As you are observing throughout my articles, I am a person passionate about art in all its forms and I think everything that has to do with creating, painting, drawing, writing, listening ... has to be continually close to me and my chores.

La verdad es que desde bien pequeña he tenido cierta, llamémosle actitud, hacia las manualidades y todo aquello que podría conllevar. No obstante, también ha sido gracias a las maestras que tuve en el colegio ya que nos dejaban crear y nos ponían retos a la hora de hacer los trabajos de plástica. Además, a esto, le sumo que mi padrino ha sido uno de los mejores artistas de donde yo vivo y que siempre me ha regalado para mi cumpleaños cosas para dibujar y pintar.  Recuerdo una vez que se me metió entre ceja y ceja saber cómo podía dibujar un caballo y allí que fui al taller de mi padrino a que me enseñara a dibujarlo. 

The truth is that from a very small I have had a certain, call attitude, to the crafts and everything that could lead. However, it has also been thanks to the teachers I had in the school because they let us create and put us challenges when doing the work of plastic. Also, to this, I add that my godfather has been one of the best artists where I live and has always given me for my birthday things to draw and paint. I remember once I got between eyebrow and eyebrow know how I could draw a horse and there I went to the workshop of my godfather to teach me to draw it.

Bueno, volviendo al tema principal de mi artículo... a lo largo de estos dos meses he ido pintando en modo de meditación el mandala elefante. Supongo que algunos os estaréis preguntando por qué a modo de meditación. 

Well, returning to the main topic of my article ... throughout these two months I have been painting in meditation mode the Elephant mandala. I guess some of you may be wondering why in meditation mode.

Para poder contestar a esta pregunta, primero quiero definir lo que es un mandala. 

In order to answer this question, I first want to define what a mandala is.

Un mandala  según la página fuente utilizada, se trata de una "palabra procedente del sánscrito cuyo significado es "Círculo Mágico". Además, éste es representado mediante diagramas y representaciones simbólicas."

Pues bien, en la página fuente podréis encontrar los múltiples beneficios que aporta pintar un mandala. Aunque hay muchos, uno de ellos es el que tiene que ver con la meditación puesto que cuando pintas un mandala y acompasas tu respiración junto con la actividad de pintarlo, se podría decir que estás meditando. 

Well, on the source page you can find the many benefits that it brings to paint a mandala. Although there are many, one of them is what has to do with meditation because when you paint a mandala and acompasas your breath along with the activity of painting it, you could say that you are meditating.

No obstante, podría decirse que la realización de esta actividad podría también acuñarse con el término que ahora está "más de moda" y que parece que no da tanto "miedo": Mindfulness. Pero este término lo dejaré para otro artículo y así poderme referir a este concepto como se debe. 

However, it could be said that the realization of this activity could also be coined with the term that nowadays is "more fashionable" and that it seems that it does not give so much "fear": Mindfulness. But this term I will leave for another article and so I can refer to this concept as it should.

Y bien, en cuanto tuve un momento de tranquilidad me puse a ello. 

Well, as soon as I had a moment of peace, I put myself to it.

Como podeis observar, para ello utilicé los rotuladores que ya os mostré en un artículo anterior. Por si alguno no lo leyó, son rotuladores con punta en forma de pincel que suelen utilizarse para hacer también "Handlettering". 

As you can see, for this I used the pens I already showed you in a previous article. In case anyone did not read it, they are pen-shaped tip pens that are usually used to also make "Handlettering".

Debo añadir, que para empezar sí que me fijé en una muestra que venía junto al mandala. Por supuesto, me sirvió de guía al principio pero conforme iba avanzando, parece que el mismo mandala fuera diciéndome qué colores tenía que utilizar. 

I must add, that to begin with I noticed a sample that came next to the mandala. Of course, I served as a guide at first but as I was advancing, it seems that the same mandala was telling me what colors I had to use.

Por supuesto, en mis labores creativas cuento con una ayudante excepcional: mi querida gata Zoe, que algunos ya conocéis. Ella siempre da el visto bueno antes de dar a conocer el trabajo. ¿Qué sería mi vida sin ella?
