GRAN ESTRENO DE LA OBRA "LA BRECHA"- SAGUNT A ESCENA / GREAT PREMIERE OF THE WORK "THE GAP" - SAGUNT A ESCENA

Tal y como ya os comenté en un post anterior, este año la 34a edición de Sagunt a Escena me asombró gratamente. 

As I told you in an earlier post, this year the 34th edition of Sagunt to Scene surprised me with pleasure.

Así que, sin más,  acudí este pasado domingo 3 de septiembre con motivo de la clausura de esta edición, al estreno mundial de la ópera llamada "La Brecha".

So, on Sunday, September 3, I went to the world premiere of the opera called "La Brecha", on the occasion of the closing of this edition.

"La Brecha" es una obra escrita por Marguerite De Werszowec Rey, esposa del reconocido profesor Krysztof de Werszowec Rey quien fue el primero en la formalización de las ciencias sociales y razonamiento automático. 

"The Gap" is a work written by Marguerite De Werszowec Rey, wife of the renowned Professor Krysztof of Werszowec Rey who was the first in the formalization of social sciences and automatic reasoning.

Además, esta ópera cuenta con la música del compositor Jacques-Alphonse De Zeegant, la soprano Veronika Dzhioeva y la dirección escénica y escenográfica de Paco Azorín. 

In addition, this opera has the music of the composer Jacques-Alphonse De Zeegant, the soprano Veronika Dzhioeva and the scenic and stage direction of Paco Azorín.

La verdad es que nunca había acudido a una ópera y menos a un estreno a nivel mundial. Sí que es verdad, que en mi familia se habla mucho sobre temas culturales y por ese motivo, siempre he tenido nociones sobre este tipo de representaciones gracias a ellos. 

The truth is that he had never been to an opera and less to a world premiere. Yes it is true, that in my family there is much talk about cultural issues and for that reason, I have always had notions about this type of representations thanks to them.

No obstante, casi no encuentro adjetivos suficientes para describir lo que vi en escena. Simplemente todo fue espectacular. Desde el momento en el que te sientas en el anfiteatro y observas como  los músicos se colocan para la representación ya es asombroso. 

However, I hardly find enough adjectives to describe what I saw on the scene. Simply everything was spectacular. From the moment you sit in the amphitheater and watch as the musicians stand for the performance is already amazing.

Tengo que admitir que al principio estuve un poco perdida hasta que vi que en los laterales del escenario habían dos pantallas ( no muy grandes, debo añadir) donde se hacía una traducción simultánea de lo que iba diciendo cada personaje. No obstante, pude percatarme que no fui la única que no se había dado cuenta por lo que puede que sea un pequeño fallo de la misma ópera. 

I have to admit that at first I was a little lost until I saw that on the sides of the stage there were two screens (not very large, I should add) where a simultaneous translation of what each character was saying. However, I was able to realize that I was not the only one who had not realized what might be a small failure of the opera itself.

La soprano, Veronika Dzhioeva, que anteriormente he citado, fue una de las grandes estrellas en la representación. Fue sorprendente como con cada una de sus entradas en escena nos conmovía con esa voz que parecía salirle sin ningún tipo de esfuerzo. Una interpretación única y desgarradora donde vemos como interpreta a una mujer cuya pérdida le hace bajar hasta los infiernos y luego resurgir gracias al amor. 

The soprano, Veronika Dzhioeva, who I mentioned earlier, was one of the great stars in the performance. It was surprising how with each of his inputs on stage we were moved by the voice that seemed to come out without any effort. A unique and heartbreaking performance where we see how she interprets a woman whose loss makes her go down to hell and then resurface thanks to love.

Cada personaje fue realmente impresionante, pero como maestra y amante de los niños debo añadir que el que hubiera un niño en escena, cuyo papel no fue el de cantar sino el de interpretar, me emocionó. 

Each character was really impressive, but as a teacher and lover of children I must add that if there was a child on stage, whose role was not to sing but to play, I was moved.

En cuanto a la escenografía, sabiendo que además, el que se encarga de ella es español, tengo el honor de decir que estuvo a la altura o más de lo que esta obra se merece. 

As for the scenography, knowing that in addition, the one who takes care of it is Spanish, I have the honor to say that it lived up to or more than what this work deserves.

En cuanto a la música, cabe decir que la orquesta que acompaña a esta ópera es absolutamente quimérica. Desde donde nos sentábamos, se podía observar el entusiasmo de cada uno de los componentes que la formaban pero, en especial, el de un violinista que se sentaba junto al director cuyo énfasis tocando el violín desgarraba el alma de quien se dispusiese a observarlo. 

As for music, it may be said that the orchestra that accompanies this opera is absolutely chimerical. From where we sat, one could see the enthusiasm of each of the components that formed it, but especially that of a violinist who sat next to the director whose emphasis playing the violin ripped the soul of who was willing to observe it.

Cuando terminó, el público estuvo como 10 minutos sin dejar de aplaudir porque si la ópera estuvo bien fue gracias también a todo el equipo que lleva detrás. 

When it finished, the audience was like 10 minutes without ceasing to applaud because if the opera was well it was thanks also to all the equipment that takes behind.

Sin duda, una de las mejores opciones que pude tener durante el fin de semana. Además, si a eso se le añade una gran cena de platos típicos valencianos en una de las tabernas más concurridas al pie del castillo de Sagunto, ¿qué más se puede pedir?

Without a doubt, one of the best options I could have during the weekend. In addition, if you add a large dinner of typical Valencian dishes in one of the busiest taverns at the foot of the Sagunto castle, what more can you ask for?
