El Grito, en noruego Skrik, es nombre que se le da a una colección de 4 cuadros pintados por Edvard Munch, la versión mas famosa se encuentra en la Galería Nacional de Noruega, dos versiones mas están expuestas en el Museo Munch, en Oslo, y la versión restante se encuentra en una colección particular.
En los últimos años, El Grito ha sido víctima de robos de gran repercusión mediática. El primero en 1994 cuando la obra principal de esta colección fue robada de la Galería Nacional y fue recuperada por la policía 3 meses después. Luego, en 2004 es robada una de las versiones expuestas en el Museo Munch, la cual fue recuperada dos años después en buen estado.
Todas las versiones de esta pintura representan a una figura andrógina antropomorfa ubicada en el primer plano, con un rostro que muestra bastante angustia, una representación del hombre moderno y sus tribulaciones y desastres existenciales. El paisaje que se aprecia al fondo es Oslo visto desde Ekeberg, sobre una colina, esta pintura representa un hito en el movimiento expresionista siendo considerada un icono cultural, una de las pinturas mas importantes de la humanidad.
The Scream, in Norwegian Skrik, is a name given to a collection of 4 paintings painted by Edvard Munch, the most famous version is in the National Gallery of Norway, two more versions are exhibited in the Munch Museum, in Oslo, and the remaining version is in a particular collection.
In recent years, The Scream has been the victim of robberies of great media impact. The first in 1994 when the main work of this collection was stolen from the National Gallery and was recovered by the police 3 months later. Then, in 2004 one of the versions exposed in the Munch Museum was stolen, which was recovered two years later in good condition.
All versions of this painting represent an anthropomorphic androgynous figure located in the foreground, with a face that shows quite anguish, a representation of modern man and his tribulations and existential disasters. The landscape that is appreciated in the background is Oslo seen from Ekeberg, on a hill, this painting represents a milestone in the expressionist movement being considered a cultural icon, one of the most important paintings of humanity.

Este cuadro contiene una gran cantidad de colores cálidos en el fondo, específicamente en el cielo, y una iluminación bastante tenue, casi oscura, y en el primer plano encontramos a la figura principal al lado de unas vallas que parten desde el lado izquierdo y se pierden en el lado derecho en diagonal dando una sensación de profundidad, en el fondo, casi saliendo de la escena encontramos a dos figuras antropomorfas con sombreros que no pueden distinguirse muy bien, en general la pintura tiene un aspecto brusco y arremolinado que a pesar de contener colores cálidos, provocan una sensación de frío y vejez.
This painting contains a lot of warm colors in the background, specifically in the sky, and a rather dim, almost dark illumination, and in the foreground we find the main figure next to some fences that start from the left side and are they lose on the right side diagonally giving a sense of depth, in the background, almost leaving the scene we find two anthropomorphic figures with hats that cannot be distinguished very well, in general the painting has an abrupt and swirling appearance that despite contain warm colors, cause a feeling of cold and old age.
