Just A Small Town Girl...livin in Steemit World

HI Steemit!!!!

My name is Chelsea Jo and I’m a small town girl new to the community. Proudly born and raised in Ashland Ohio aka. (Amish Land); a small community of consisting predominantly of those that belong to the Amish and Mennonite faiths (i was neither). We have more heads of cattle than we do people. As you would expect with any small town we have the typical "main street" (yes it was actually named MAIN ST.) , with all the old businesses and storefronts that have literally been there since the towns establishment. Big news we just got Wal Mart which serves a dual purpose role as a place to buy stuff ad the new town attraction. So to say I am a "small town girl" is factual. It’s the type of place where everyone knows one another; a regular modern day Mayberry. Sadly though, I currently reside in Florida, and will get more into that later... but Ohio will ALWAYS be HOME.

Growing up i was a good kid. Hated school though, and found myself to be more of a hands on learner. It’s not that i wasn't bright, because i was, i just learn more efficiently hands on and visually than studying a book and taking tests. I was a gymnast from the time i was 9 years old...and boy was i good...coaches told me I would have have no problem becoming elite. That is until I entered High School and the call of a mini skirt uniform and pom poms on friday nights became more important; mistake. Not that i have anything against being a cheerleader because i loved it, i just wish i hadn't given up my dreams of being an elite gymnast for a cool reputation and attention from boys... I had lots of friends and thought i had life all figured out. Boy was I wrong... so wrong. They don't teach you in school about hard love, loss, hate, failure, struggles, hurt, disease, death, lies and all the other sucky stuff in between that life throws your way... you just get thrown into it...full force.... And boy have I been TOSSED.

I moved down to Florida about 4 years ago. I won't go into too much detail about all that yet because i am eager to do entire articles on all of that... but i moved down here to chase some dreams and I did just that! In the last 4 years I have ran a business, rescued animals, volunteered, fell in love, and experienced the difficulty and hurt that life can throw your way. This I learned standing by my partner and being supportive as he battled and to this point won his fight against Cancer.

I have been skydiving, scuba diving, took random road trips, met a ton of new people, danced...danced a lot, stepped out of my comfort zone, swam across a harbor, built a backyard farm, become a fitness, boudior, and advertisement model, and my biggest accomplishment yet.... became a mother to my darling Paisley Jo. So much has happened since leaving my tiny town. But i owe everything i am to where i came from, and what helped build the foundation that made me the woman i am today.

I have high hopes that my newly started blogging journey on Steemit will be so open, honest and raw that you feel as if you have known me for years and are excited to watch my life unfold before your very eyes. I will let you into all parts of my life and hold nothing back. When you ask me questions i will be as true and honest as possible. In my future articles I intend to cover the lasting effects of being separated from my biological father and being adopted by my dad (Jamie, you will learn more about this later), my daily life with my child, the difficulties of having an older partner, an age gap relationship of 12 years, and the complexities that come with it.

I hope to touch on topics that touch a spot in your heart. I hope to give you insight or help with your own struggles, to lend a caring ear when you're dealing with something difficult. And even if we cannot relate i hope to entrap you in the stories of my life and make you invested. So much so that you can’t wait to learn more. I plan to take you on this beautiful,messy, less than perfect, but perfect in my eyes, journey of what has been my life up to this point and beyond. This blog will hopefully be "like a box of chocolates" in that you never know what the next days blog will bring, you just know it'll be good :)
