Well hey there Steemit
So I guess I'm going to give this thing a try, looks fun...
I'm April. I live in Las Vegas but not a typical "Vegas" girl (whatever that means). I wasn't born here in Sin City but I did grow up here. Just moved back this spring after a good 20 years away. Went to school in AZ, moved to northern IL, got married, got divorced, and all the things in between. Now I'm back home and couldn't be happier to be back.
So this is where I'm supposed to say a bunch of cool and interesting things about myself. Hmmm....
I have two dogs and I train and do competition performance events like obedience and agility. So technically I "show" dogs, but not what most people think. Nothing like the Westminster stuff you see on TV, although that is cool in its own way too. These are more skill related team events. My older dog, Quinn, has earned 12 titles and is one of the top in her breed. Meet Quinn...
She's 8 now and I've decided to retire her from competition. We may still enter for fun, but she's done competing at a high level so I can focus on getting my puppy, Aspen, up to speed. Aspen (aka Hurricane) is a handful, but I think once she gets it she's going to be a lot of fun. Meet Aspen...
Besides dog training, I like all the usual things. Books and music, fresh air and good company. I like to cook and make things up in the kitchen but haven't done as much of it as I'd like. Trying to rectify that.
During the day I'm a corporate type. I manage a team of both inside and outside sales people, some engineers, and some general office staff for a manufacturer. Spent most of my life in sales and marketing, and am just nerdy enough to enjoy reading about sales strategy and leadership crap. Fun stuff.
So that's the short version...looking forward to reading more and figuring this thing out.
Welcome to Steemit, @appiepearl! Your dogs are gorgeous! That's so awesome that you train dogs for competitions like that, I've always wondered what goes on in dogs' brains and how they process training like that.

Dog sport is a blast. You nailed it...figuring out how they think is the critical piece.
