Friends of steemit, how are you? Well this post will see a redraw of a reindeer girl that I made for Christmas just a year ago.

A year ago to represent and celebrate Christmas I drew a snowy girl, so this year it occurred to me to redraw that illustration to see if it improves a bit or if my style changes or I have to improve. Making redrawings of your old or old drawings is a good practice that I recommend to anyone who likes to draw. this way you can appreciate if you improved or in what aspects you need more practice.

This is the drawing I made in December of 2017.

Step by step:

As always when I make a drawing I start doing the sketch in pencil in my sketchbook.

After making the sketch I take a picture and I pass it to the program I use to draw and I do the lineart with a brush tool modified to my liking.

I wanted to make the girl something dark and with dark brown hair, to follow the natural colors of the reindeer hahaha I also wanted to make the hair somewhat wavy and very long and also as the reindeer or deer have spots on the back I put freckles on the girl . To paint the hair and the skin I put a base color and then shade and illuminate with the modified marker tool to my tastes.

The outfit of the girl I took it out I do not remember where I took it from, but I think it was from a pinterest picture, but I remember changing the color of the skirt and I put on suspenders. To color the clothes I do the same as the skin and hair but here I blend with a water brush tool modified to my liking.

For the lights I put a flat color but in another layer, placing it in brightness, I made the brightness to each little light. Then I made the ornaments of the farm in white and painted the lineart by putting a layer on it and placing it on the cut out group.

🌱 When making this drawing I think and I see it improve at least a little, but the idea is to practice and improve little by little, and doing this exercise I recommend it to anyone who likes to draw because you can see your improvement.
