Primer Encuentro
En la cima de un extinto volcán las antenas y telescopios de la estación de observación se alineaban todos en dirección del centro galáctico, donde la nube de objetos había sido divisada. La fulgurante estrella enana naranja que daba vida al pequeño sistema planetario empezaba a salir por el horizonte dando inicio al largo día de 95 horas de luz del pequeño mundo.
Se trataba de un planeta rocoso con una densa atmósfera rica en nitrógeno y oxígeno, en él convivían un inmenso número de especies tanto animales como vegetales, la vida se desarrollaba fundamentalmente en tierra; a pesar de tener un océano que ocupaba una cuarta parte de la superficie, éste estaba prácticamente despoblado de vida animal compleja, aunque sí abundaban las plantas acuáticas tanto flotantes como sumergidas.
La flota de naves de Andrómeda se disponía a ponerse en órbita alrededor del pequeño planeta, en la superficie el pánico cundía entre sus habitantes. Eran una raza joven, en el florecimiento tecnológico, su huella en el espectro electromagnético apenas se extendía a treinta años luz de distancia, por lo que los arqueólogos de Andrómeda pudieron deducir que, como mucho, tendrían treinta años de haber desarrollado las comunicaciones radiales.
El mayor interés de los arqueólogos se centraba en dos especies que, según los escaneos, mostraban señales de inteligencia y pensamiento abstracto, la primera, la que había llamado su atención desde un principio, tenía un obvio desarrollo tecnológico moderadamente avanzado y ocupaba la mayor parte del continente, donde se distribuían en varios poblados medianamente habitados. La otra, estaba formada por un pequeño grupo de asentamientos, al norte del continente, mostraban un escaso desarrollo tecnológico, pero la clara presencia de monumentos precariamente construidos y edificaciones con apariencia de templos ubicadas en el centro de los asentamientos, parecían indicar la existencia de algún tipo de culto.
La población estaba particularmente agitada, la noticia se había difundido rápidamente, sembrando el terror, “Una gran nube de objetos de naturaleza desconocida y aparentemente tecnológicos, se aproxima al planeta”, fue el mensaje radiado por la señal de emergencia que normalmente era usada para advertir de los sismos y tormentas, la mayor parte de los pobladores optaron por refugiarse, mucho antes del amanecer, en sus nidos subterráneos, pensados para resguardarlos del calor del largo día.
Nadie pudo dormir a la espera de nuevas comunicaciones del sistema de emergencia, cada periodo se volvía a repetir la misma señal, sin dar más explicaciones, ya había empezado la noche cuando una nueva señal fue radiada, “La Estación de Observación reporta que la nube está formada por lo que parecen ser varios cientos de naves de procedencia desconocida, los astrometristas afirman que estarán en órbita alrededor del planeta entes de que se haga de día.”
Durante la larga noche, todas las ciudades, que normalmente bullían de actividad, permanecieron desoladas, la población se mantuvo expectante oculta en sus nidos, poco antes del amanecer las naves de la flota de Andrómeda se habían instalado en una órbita geoestacionaria desde la que tenían una vista fija de la mayor parte del continente. Un nuevo aviso fue enviado por el sistema de emergencia de los habitantes del planeta, “Las naves se han puesto en órbita fija a unos 30 mil Largos de la superficie del planeta, están sobre el centro del continente, por favor no salgan de sus nidos, hasta que el consejo decida que se debe hacer”.
Los habitantes de Andrómeda estaban maravillados, después de varias decenas de miles de años viajando a través de la galaxia, explorando y asombrándose con mundos, pulsares, estrellas gigantes, nebulosas de infinidad de formas y colores; pero sin nunca antes encontrar en su camino otro mundo habitable, como el que una vez dejaron atrás, ahora se hallaban frente a uno que no sólo poseía condiciones aptas para la vida, sino que también era rico en ella y además contaba con dos formas de vida inteligentes.
First Meet

The fleet of ships of Andromeda was preparing to orbit around the small planet, on the surface the panic spread among its inhabitants. They were a young race, in the technological flourishing, their footprint in the electromagnetic spectrum barely extended thirty light years away, so the Andromeda archaeologists could deduce that, at most, they would have thirty years of developing radio communications.
Archaeologists' greatest interest was focused on two species that, according to the scans, showed signs of intelligence and abstract thinking, the first, which had attracted their attention from the beginning, had an obvious moderately advanced technological development and occupied the largest part of the continent, where they were distributed in several moderately inhabited towns. The other, was formed by a small group of settlements, north of the continent, showed little technological development, but the clear presence of precariously constructed monuments and buildings with the appearance of temples located in the center of the settlements, seemed to indicate the existence of some kind of worship
The population was particularly agitated, the news had spread rapidly, sowing terror, "A large cloud of objects of an unknown and apparently technological nature, approaching the planet", was the message radiated by the emergency signal that was normally used to warn of earthquakes and storms, most of the settlers chose to take refuge, long before dawn, in their underground nests, designed to protect them from the heat of the long day.
No one could sleep while waiting for new communications from the emergency system, each period repeating the same signal, without giving further explanations, the night had already begun when a new signal was broadcast, "The Observation Station reports that the cloud is formed by what seem to be several hundred ships of unknown origin, astrometrists say they will be in orbit around the planet before it becomes day. "
During the long night, all the cities, which normally bustled with activity, remained desolate, the population remained expectant hidden in their nests, shortly before dawn the ships of the Andromeda fleet had settled in a geostationary orbit from which they had a fixed view of most of the continent. A new warning was sent by the system of emergency of the inhabitants of the planet, "The ships have been placed in fixed orbit at about 30 thousand Long of the surface of the planet, are over the center of the continent, please do not leave your nests , until the council decides what should be done. "
The inhabitants of Andromeda were astonished, after several tens of thousands of years traveling through the galaxy, exploring and being amazed with worlds, pulsars, giant stars, nebulae of infinity of forms and colors; but without ever finding another habitable world on their way, like the one they once left behind, now they were facing one that not only possessed suitable conditions for life, but was also rich in it and also had two forms of intelligent life
