La persecución / The chasing (relato corto / short story)

La persecución
La nave de los invasores se movía de un lado a otro ante mi mira, ya la persecución se había extendido por varias horas, habíamos recorrido todo el desierto varias veces, mi nave era la única que aun persistía en la persecución, mis compañeros se habían tenido que retirar por diferentes razones, yo mismo aguardaba por refuerzos que me relevaran, mi vehículo estaba pronto a quedarse sin municiones.
Entonces después de tanto tiempo un afortunado disparo, impacto cerca de su propulsor y la nave se precipitó en picada, descendí tras ella, no lo dejaría escapar. Pude ver como impactaba en la arena rebotando tres veces como una piedra lanzada a un estanque. Se detuvo varios kilómetros frente a mi entre una nube de humo y arena.
Aterricé la nave justo al lado, todo se veía quieto, la cabina aun estaba cerrada. Por fin podría ver en persona a una de estas cosas que trataban de quitarnos nuestro hogar. Baje de la nave corriendo y me acerque empuñando mi arma.
-Baja de ahí, maldita cosa- Grité furioso
La cabina de la nave se abrió, pude ver sus apéndices superiores levantarse por sobre la cabina abierta, estaban cubiertos de lo que parecía una especie de armadura de color verde grisáceo, cada uno de sus dos apéndices parecían dividirse al final en lo que parecían ser cinco pequeñas extremidades, entonces asomó su redonda cabeza, y para mi sorpresa habló en mi idioma.
-No me dispares, no tengo nada en tu contra, mi pueblo sólo trata de recuperar lo que era suyo- Su voz sonaba distorsionada, como si de algún dispositivo traductor se tratase.
-Que coño quieren de nosotros- Grité
-Somos los habitantes originales de este planeta, lo abandonamos hace varios siglos, después de eso ustedes llegaron. - Me respondió con su voz electrónica.
-Calla y baja de ahí, y tiéndete sobre el suelo, ya llegan mis refuerzos- Su extraña y espigada figura se estiró en su totalidad, tenia dos apéndices inferiores sobre los que se erguía, saltó al suelo y se tendió en la arena, las otras naves llegaron y con ellos el transporte que llevaría a nuestro prisionero a la colmena para ser interrogado.
The chasing
The ship of the invaders was moving from one side to another before my sight, the chase had spread for several hours, we had traveled the entire desert several times, my ship was the only one that still persisted in the pursuit, my companions had been to retire for different reasons, I waited for reinforcements to relieve me, my vehicle was soon to run out of ammunition.
Then after so long a lucky shot, impact near its propeller and the ship plummeted, I descended behind it, would not let it escape. I could see how it hit the sand bouncing three times like a stone thrown into a pond. It stopped several kilometers in front of me in a cloud of smoke and sand.
I landed the ship near it, everything seemed still, the cabin was still closed. At last I could see in person one of these things that were trying to take away our home. Get off the ship running and approach me holding my gun.
-Get out of there, damn thing- I screamed furious
The ship's cockpit opened, I could see its upper appendages rising above the open cockpit, they were covered in what looked like a kind of gray-green armor, each of its two appendages seemed to divide at the end in what appeared to be five small limbs, then poked it round head, and to my surprise it spoke in my language.
-Don't shoot me, I do not have anything against you, my people only try to recover what was theirs- It voice sounded distorted, as if it were some kind of translator device.
-What the fuck do you want from us- I shouted
-We are the original inhabitants of this planet, we abandoned it several centuries ago, after that you arrived. - He answered me with his electronic voice.
-Shut up and get out of there, and lie down on the ground, my reinforcements arrive- It strange and slim figure stretched in its entirety, had two lower appendages on which it stood, jumped to the ground and lay on the sand, other ships arrived and with them the transport that would take our prisoner to the hive for interrogation.
