Fenrir
La nave Fenrir había descendido en una de las lunas de un gigante gaseoso varios años atrás, la colonia progresaba como se tenia previsto, su llegada a este mundo había ocurrido después de 4994 años de su partida desde la estación espacial Pegasus, en la Tierra, hoy se cumplían exactamente los 5000 años de haber iniciado su viaje.
Hace pocos meses los niños colonos habían cumplido los cinco años, todos ellos habían nacido en un periodo de tres semanas, de los 10.000 embriones que originalmente habían iniciado la misión, sólo 8.943 fueron viables, y de ellos 7.535, nacieron.
La colonia se había establecido en la cuarta luna de un gigante gaseoso en órbita alrededor de una enana amarilla, muy parecida al Sol, los análisis de los datos recabados por los sensores de abordo, indicaron que el paso por las proximidades de una gigante azul, durante el trayecto pudo haber expuesto la nave a radiación gamma y estar esto asociado a la perdida de varios embriones y la posterior muerte de otros en la etapa de gestación.
Desde su llegada a este mundo, la colonia Fenrir no las tuvo todas de su parte, en un principio la selección como destino de este sistema, se debió a la presencia de dos planetas rocosos en la región habitable de la estrella, sin embargo al arribar uno de ellos carecía de atmósfera era un mundo yermo y frio, en el borde exterior de la zona de habitabilidad, mientras que el segundo y más prometedor, los análisis de la trayectorias de los objetos menores que formaban el sistema, identificó cuatro objetos de tamaño considerable que estarían en ruta de colisión con él, en diferentes momentos, dentro de los siguientes quinientos años, se esperaba que el primero impactara el próximo año, esto obviamente lo hacía inhabitable.
Afortunadamente, la proximidad de uno de sus gigantes gaseosos a la zona de habitabilidad y la presencia en él de una luna con un núcleo y manto fundido, como para calentarla desde adentro, además de portar una densa atmósfera rica en dióxido de carbono y nitrógeno, la hicieron un destino más o menos adecuado para la colonia.
A pesar de contar con la suficiente suerte, como para encontrar un mundo habitable, después de que los dos que estaban previstos resultaron no serlo, la colonia Fenrir no era un sitio del todo agradable. La luna en la que se había establecido, tenia una intensa actividad tectónica y un vulcanismo acorde con esto, lo que la hacía víctima de frecuentes e intensos sismos.
La nave se había posado en las laderas de una especie de mesa, que se elevaba unos cientos de metros sobre el nivel de la planicie, un poco más allá se podía divisar el pequeño mar interior del continente. La planicie, así como la mesa parecían ser el resultado del enfriamiento de un antiguo campo de lava, la cual se había cristalizado dándole la apariencia de vidrio de una tonalidad azul.
Aun después de un exitoso nacimiento, varios de los niños habían perecido debido a diferentes enfermedades genéticas, posiblemente a causa de la irradiación por rayos gamma, en total. a poco más de cinco años de haber llegado al mundo, 6.335 niños, eran educados por los robots nodrizas, quienes se encargaban de todas las actividades paternales de la colonia.
Aun cuando eran muy pequeños para iniciar su educación académica, de momento se les dejaba jugar libremente, manteniendo sólo un horario para tomar los alimentos y dormir, también debían tener un estricto régimen atlético, la gravedad de la luna era de sólo un 15% la de la tierra, por lo que debían realizar rigurosos entrenamientos, como parte de su rutina diaria y mantener una dieta adecuada para conservar el correcto desarrollo óseo y muscular.
La vida de los niños transcurría fundamentalmente en jugar con la guía de las nodrizas, ver programación educativa infantil, específicamente creada para fomentar el lenguaje y la convivencia y realizar sus actividades atléticas, sin embargo, a pesar de haber superado varias dificultades para salir adelante y parecer prosperar, Fenrir no sería una colonia viable.

In spite of having enough luck, as to find a habitable world, after the two that were foreseen turned out not to be, the colony Fenrir was not a very pleasant place. The moon in which it had been established, had an intense tectonic activity and a volcanism according to this, which made it the victim of frequent and intense earthquakes.
The ship had perched at the foot of a kind of table, which rose a few hundred meters above the level of the plain, a little beyond could be seen the small sea inside the continent, the plain, as well as the table seemed to be the result of the cooling of an ancient lava field, which had crystallized giving it the appearance of glass of a blue hue.
Even after a successful birth, several of the children had died due to different genetic diseases, possibly because of gamma-ray irradiation, in total. A little more than five years after arriving in the world, 6,335 children were educated by the nurse robots, who were in charge of all the parental activities of the colony.
