Se dice que nos gusta observar el fuego porque para nosotros es un símbolo de protección. Es que tiene sentido, es uno de nuestros instintos más profundos, porque para nuestros antepasados cavernícolas la oscuridad significaba peligro; no podías ver, y podías ser atacado por animales. Pero cuando lograbas tener fuego, tenías calor, visibilidad, y la capacidad de ahuyentar animales peligrosos. Es rico imaginar ser un cavernícola, imaginarse el alivio que debías sentir cuando el fuego iluminaba la noche y podías dormir sin tanto miedo. Pero da un poco de temor imaginar un noche oscura sin fuego, sin luz, sin saber qué se esconde en la nada, sin poder ver si tienes algún animal venenoso cerca. Por eso amamos el fuego. Lo amamos. El fuego es encantador. Puedes perderte en su encanto mientras escuchas crugir la madera, puedes viajar al pasado, puedes sentirte tranquilo, puedes sentirte feliz. Ahora sabes por qué.
