Cefal - the most picturesque corner of Sicily!

Cefal - is a small Italian town not far from the capital of the island of Palermo, just an hour away by car. The town is typically Italian, with narrow cobblestone streets, multicolored plastered houses, with many cafes and restaurants. Everything mixed up here: cheap souvenir shops and expensive brand shops, such as Guess and Gucci; the smell of freshly brewed coffee, rolls with vanillin and seafood; unhurried tourists and local residents who cut through the peace and quiet of the city on motorcycles ...

At first I met the sea and the beaches in Cefalu, and they, I must say, fell in love with me: the beaches here are sandy, with a fine, clean sand, and the water in the sea is literally velvety and also unusually clean and transparent. In the evening we tasted deliciously at the restaurant and strolled along the Cefalu embankment, and then we dipped a little into the center of the city. Although the "center" it is difficult to call, because the whole city is very small and compact, and is located, or rather, stretched along the sea. The promenade along the sea is quite wide and well-equipped: there are descents to the sea, benches, to rest and small areas so that you can admire the sea, especially at sunset of the sun.

The first time I saw such maps of Sicily in Sicily. Very convenient, I'll tell you ... Later, similar cards were encountered not only in Cefalu, but also in other cities of the island.

This is how we managed to see the city of Cefal on the day of arrival. But a more thorough acquaintance with him, we started one day early in the morning. Walk through the city in silence, without the turmoil, to see him as sleepy - it was a real pleasure. Well, therefore, I invite you to walk around the city instead of me.

On the road there are small souvenir shops. Along with small souvenir shops on the road, I met quite a few small shops, too, but offering clothes and accessories of the "luxury" category. And also confectionery shops with unusual desserts in form. The streets, albeit narrow, but clean.

Well, we got to the Cathedral. Of course, compared to the Cathedral in Montreal (a reference to the story about him will be given at the end of the review), this looks less solid in the interior. However, it dates from the 12th century AD. e. and the building looks also monumental.
As it turned out, the cathedral opens only at 8:30 in the morning, and so my husband and I had a little more walk, because I still wanted to get inside. On the square in front of the cathedral are quite a few different cafes and restaurants, here, even in the early hours, quite a lot of people. It is felt that this place is popular not only among tourists, but also among local residents.

That's such a nice thing we had a morning walk around the city. I want to say that later we visited many cities of Sicily. But Cefal remained in memory as the most colorful, most picturesque corner of the island. I'm fascinated by it!
