RE: Steem Debates #1 : The Club System

Clubs in general are a good idea to encourage people to grow their accounts.

In 2018 when I started on Steemit, I didn't even know what "Power up" meant. But I soon found out when that hardfork happened where resource credits were reduced, that's when I learned the importance of Steem Power. I remember that I won a contest and they delegated 40 SP to me, but after a month that delegation ran out, and what I had to do to be able to use my account and interact was rent 30 SP for another month. There used to be SP rental services for small accounts so they could interact. I remember that soon I didn't have to rent again because I did Power Up, with the rewards that came to me.

Before it was very difficult to build SP, so I come from that generation that learned how important it was.

I think that the clubs have given rise to the entire Steem community knowing what Steem Power is, and the need to strengthen itself. However there are many variations that occur that are not worth mentioning because it would be a very long answer, but to summarize:

Following club5050 has been reduced to simply powering up, with the same amount you withdraw, no one is forced to power up all their liquid steem, or their SBD.

Many users withdraw their rewards from time to time, in Power Down, and then return, the detail is that their accounts do not grow.

What I mean is that there is actually a lot of flexibility currently as you can see, regarding the issue of clubs.

I don't have much faith in club100, because these users will need to Power Down to withdraw some of their rewards. Sometimes they withdraw everything... and leave an empty account. I'm not saying everyone does it, but I see it a lot.

I have more confidence in club5050 because it allows the user to enjoy part of its rewards.

Are the Clubs a good thing?: Of course it was. Not only do we all know the importance of Steem Power, but currently there are many users with a lot of SP with the advantages that this brings to the communities in which they live.

A proposal I make to newcomers is that they dedicate their first three months on the platform to doing 100% power up to grow their accounts, and then change to another club if they wish.

In the same way, it would be ideal for accounts with a lot of accumulated SP (for example more than 25K) to be able to withdraw without so many restrictions with the intention of not needing to Power Down eventually.

Another idea is to try to sow in the consciences of those who plan to do Power Down, that they can withdraw a percentage, but not leave their accounts empty... But I suppose this is up to each person's conscience, and the objectives they have on the platform.

In conclusion, I think there is a lot of flexibility in the issue of clubs and whether or not to stay in them. Many users take it with a lot of fear and distrust, but it really is a benefit for everyone and for the community in general.

I tried to say in a simple way some ideas that I have thought, I hope they can be understood, I am still attentive to any questions

Agree on this...

Maybe tie this to Orca status at 50K SP?

Maybe tie this to Orca status at 50K SP?

Yes, it can be.

This would have many good consequences such as: it would be a great incentive to reach the Orca level to have more freedom in the use of resources.

The disadvantage would be that it is not easy for most to reach the Orca level.

That's why I tentatively set a lower level that would encourage growth: 25k.

In any case, playing with these figures can be an element that stimulates investment with the purpose of achieving future privileges such as this, freeing yourself a little from the club structure. :-)

Reaching Orca would be a good target !

(There are other more subtle details, such as, for example, the user who constantly powers up is always considered for curation).

Of course, I am considering how reaching milestones can be attractive to the user, and the privileges that can be obtained by reaching and maintaining them.
