My cat is back home from the vet all healthy but with three legs.

in #story7 years ago

I wrote a few days ago how some drunk teenage bastards shot my cat, Ru, for no reason and he had to go to the vet and get his leg amputated. This whole situation still makes me sad, and I am disgusted by how evil human beings are, but everything ended pretty well I guess! Ru is now happy and calm again, learning how to walk on three legs:

To be honest, he looks a little funny

What fascinates me the most is that Ru is calm again. I have never seen this cat showing any signs of frustration, anger, or disbelief. He is always happy and calm. I am sure that if someone would be killing Ru, he would just look at his killer in a calm manner and smile.

This situation is a great reminder that staying calm is the most important thing in life.

I have never seen a more calm creature that Ru in my life. He has been through a lot of struggles in his life, but it seems like he is still living in a constant Nirvana despite getting his leg amputated and spending a week at the vet. I have no explanation how a cat can be so calm, but I am starting to believe that some kind of Buddhist monk is living inside of my cat.

I look at Ru now, and I try to learn how to be calm from him. I mean, I see how my cat is happy even though he just lost his leg and was castrated (I bet no man would appreciate that). Now imagine a person whose arm was just cut off after an accident. To be honest, I cannot imagine any human being staying calm in such a situation.

I have told many times, and I'll keep repeating that the most important thing in life is to stay calm. A calm human would not care if he ended up in heaven or hell, because if he is calm inside, he has no emotions to make himself sad, and just accepts the reality the way it is.

That is why Ru is a genius cat. He doesn't give a shit about any life's problems, and he knows that it is impossible to change a thing now, so he just closes his eyes and keeps meditating.

We can learn a lot from our pets if we just put our ignorance aside and accept the fact that an animal can sometimes be more advanced than us.

As for now, I'll try to get back the money from the people who shot my cat. That might be an interesting story to tell, so I'll keep you updated. Anyway, the only thing that matters now is that Ru is happy and safe again.

Sort:

Maybe you can figure out a way to remove a limb from the person who shot the cat.

You know those teenagers with "we didn't do it," line. I won't ever know exactly which one of them bastards shot, but I am sure that Karma will find its way to remove that limb. I'll do my best to make them all pay me (and hopefully some animal shelters) some fiat to cover my expenses, which would be a good lesson for starters. I am certain that the guy who shot will pay even higher price than that limb in the future.

Hope those kids got a whuppin'. Go Ru!

They'll surely do. Things like that don't go unnoticed

@writingamigo OMG that is terrible what happened to Ru!! Comfort her, lots of treats and give her a hug from me. X

I'll definitely hug Ru from you! he'll get better in time, I am sure

@writingamigo Thank you! I have followed you to stay updated on Ru :)

I am so sorry to hear that this happened to your cat! I can't imagine! Hoping Ru can get along without any problems in the future!

I have almost a funny story about a little dog that I met a few months ago at the printers where I get my cards printed. One of the women who works there had her dog with her at work because the dog had undergone surgery on it's back (because it's such a hyper dog it had injured itself while playing with his dog friends) - and due to the anesthesia, couldn't feel it's back legs after surgery and therefore had chewed /eaten one of it's hind legs mostly off! (can you imagine?) I have since inquired about this dog - and the woman said the dog is able to still get around - with the help of a little cart, and that the dog is still crazy hyper! Animals are amazing!

haha, that is one of a kind story. I never heard anything like that. Must be the craziest dog alive, but it is also a little funny. And yeah, I want to believe that Ru's problems are over now.

Oh man I'm so sorry to hear this happened to your cat, but glad to see he is alive and well still. I honestly can't believe that other humans actually do shit like this. I have a much stronger preference for animals! But yes we can learn so much from our animal friends, and I think often they come onto our path to teach us something, as you are seeing here. My cat certainly came along to teach me patience! haha!

Thanks! Yeah, some people are evil and we shall never forget that to avoid possible problems. I believe that the universe doesn't let those bad people go away with stuff like this.

Yea I think so too, be it Karma or Law of attraction or which ever other term someone assigns to the phenomenon, I definitely believe in it too, it's not always instant, but I've seen it numerous times sometimes years later, something comes back on them. So try not to think about them, they will be dealt with one way or another. :)

Sorry to hear about your cat, but it sounds like it has a great owner.

Thanks, lig. We try our best to treat the animals with love and care. I mean, that's the only way it should work in a normal world.

Oooh that makes me so mad. Glad sweet Ru is back home and improving.

thanks for the nice words!

Wow, ru is awesome! We learn alot from our cats, following!

Yeah, animals are very smart and I don't get it how so many people don't seem to understand that. Ru is definitely awesome but still tired. He'll be better soon!

My 7 month old dog ran, by backwarding (is this a word?) herself out of her hated dog collar only to come leg to lung into contact with the tire of a truck. After a lot of active prayer by our church fellows we finally decided to have her destroyed leg amputated.
She just died, 14 1/2 years later, this winter, after a long and very interesting, shall I say life ; it was a full life.

I am glad to hear that your dog had a great life. Definitely, with some love, a pet can have a full life even without any legs, I would say. Tho, I hope my cat will now live peacefully as he experienced enough pain already.

The cat may be more cautious around people outside now...We can only hope.
Cali used to ask me why the dogs she encountered had the EXTRA appendage.
Her other front leg turned inward so she had a triangle. She used to hike the White Mountains with us and ran up to the boys in front then back to me slowly taking my time and enjoying the hike, then back to the front. In this way she covered the distance we were hiking many times over.
Yes, your cat will get used to it and may even get stronger and more agile that ordinary cats!

Aww, I'm glad that your cat made it through this situation okay. It is a terrible shame that some people have no regard for other people's treasured, innocent pets, or take their anger out on them. Truly, there is a lot we can learn from animals! :)

Yup, I cannot understand why would anyone want to hurt an innocent animal but some people are just bad I guess
