Chapter 11: The Whale Wall And The Disappearing Act

200 feet away and closing, the Megalodon was piercing through the ocean waters with blazing speed closing in closer on the Mother Blue Whale.

The family of Blue Whales appeared up ahead and they were also rushing forward in a hurry to reach her as well. The biggest female Blue Whale, at 101-feet long, was leading the pack

and the rest were tightly grouped beside her in formation. The Megalodon was only 90 feet away from tasting victory as the desperate and scared 81-foot long Mother Blue Whale panickly swam head on into the group of Blue Whales.

They intercepted her and the Mother Blue Whale slipped through an opening created by the family Blue Whales just in time and as they began to close the space within their formation, the Megalodon came into close proximity swimming at full force.

The family of Blue Whales moved forward creating a massively dense wall and collided head on with the Megalodon and crashed into the shark, breaking some of its teeth, just as the shark had tried to bite into the backside of the Mother Blue Whale, barely missing her tail, but still managing to have nipped off a small chunk of her lower waist as she escaped through the many Blue Whales around her rushing past.

The Megalodon was tackled by so many of the Blue Whales that it received a minor head concussion, leaving its head throbbing in severe pain and sent the shark swimming downward as it lost balance and felt a strong dizziness.

The group of Blue Whales had saved the Mother Blue Whale and quickly escorted her away from the now, temporarily subdued Megalodon, swimming near the surface as fast and as far away as they could.

The Megalodon was feeling very aggravated, but its head was throbbing badly with sharp pain leaving the shark disoriented. The shark also had a few bruises and scrapes from the Blue Whales pummeling him, and hitting him from the left and right sides of his body when they had all collided and crashed into one another. Some of the scratches were caused by the hundreds of barnacles deeply embedded into the sides of the thick skin of the Blue Whales, which gave the shark a painful friction upon impact.

The Megalodon continued swimming downward towards the seabed floor, and decided to take rest from its failed attempt of killing and eating the Mother Blue Whale. This was the one time it had bit off more than it could handle. The 68-foot long predator was no match for a unified and protective family of the largest marine animals known in the entire world.

The Navy had finally started to close in on the tracking location of the Megalodon, but had noticed that the shark’s body temperature and heart rate had changed drastically. The data showed that the heart rate was extremely high, and the heart was beating rapidly as if the shark was scared, in danger, or frightened. The scientists analyzing the data were puzzled and confused. What could possibly have scared or frightened a shark of that size and magnitude?

Regardless of the new, strange data they had received from the tracking device, eight yellow and black mini-submarine drones had been released into the area from the lower hatch doors from the Navy’s submarines to intercept the shark at its designated location.

The drones were propelling at top speed and covering a lot of ground quickly. The cameras mounted in the front of each drone spotted movement up ahead of a large creature. They were erasing the gap between themselves and the massively dangerous Megaldon. As the drones got closer and closer, they prepared their mechanical arms extended, which were equipped with tranquilizer guns which were ready to shoot more tranquilizer needles to put the Megalodon to sleep.

Back on the Navy submarines, on the big screens, a live recording from the mounted cameras on the many mini-sub drones was showing, and the military personnel and scientists observing the mission couldn’t believe what they were witnessing.

What the drones showed from their video cameras as they propelled closer towards the prehistoric shark was actually not the Megalodon at all, but was instead the large family of swimming Blue Whales who had escaped the Megalodon. First one Blue Whale could be seen,

then two, then three, then several more came into full view. The Navy scientists and military personnel couldn’t explain it. What happened to the Megalodon? Why were they seeing a group of Blue Whales?

The answer. The tracking device that was once embedded inside the Megalodon had somehow been knocked out of the shark and had penetrated the skin of one of the female Blue Whales during the massive collision between the heavy ocean beasts. The Navy no longer knew the whereabouts of the Megalodon and the mini submarine drones had to return back to headquarters empty-handed.
The massive predator was still lurking about somewhere in the deep waters...
