In 1991 or 1992, suddenly Geneviève moved back with us in the house in Limeil-Brévannes. I don't know why she did that, as it was not to live with me. She probably broke up with the man she was living with up to then.

She took Roseline's bedroom. So Roseline had to move to Betty's bedroom, and they both were not very happy about that.

As far as I remember, Geneviève was not participating fully in the family life. This was an awkward situation that lasted for more than two years.

In 1987, I had bought a new car, a Renault Express (known also as Renault Extra or Renault Rapid).

With this car, I went on vacations with my four children. Of course, we went several times to the Abbey, where they could meet their cousins and where they had a lot of fun. Thirty years later, they still remember the good times they had at the Abbey.

Having good memories of the vacations I spent when I was a child in Maisons Familiales, one summer, I decided to go to a Maison Familiale with my four children.

I had looked at several of them and made a reservation in one Maison Familiale in the Pyrenees. Unfortunately, as I am sometimes distracted and forgetful, I first went to another one in the Alps! It's only when they told me that they had no reservation for us that I remembered that it was the wrong one.

So, we continued to the maison in the Pyrenees, for a trip of 1,500 km in one day.

When we arrived at around 8PM, we were told to go directly to the dining room where the dinner was already served.

The other guests saw us arriving, one white guy and four black children, very tired. They immediately nicknamed me as the white father.
We had a good time at this Maison Familiale.

The situation at our house in Limeil-Brévannes, with Geneviève living there, but not really living with us, could not last for too long.

So, I decided to try to emigrate to North America, preferably to Canada, as I had good memories of my stay in Halifax in 1979-1982.
