55-year-old Ivan Kutchakokov had given up on his life's ambition to become a private detective.

However, at an engagement party he discovers some tactless fairies trying to frighten his popular mother, Iwonna Ryder, and he decides it's time for change.

In need of some stamps and sunny wigs, loving and brave Ivan pops to New York for a bit of shopping.

Having led a sleepy life, Ivan finds himself unable to find sunny wigs in New York. So he sets out to acquire some sunny wigs from sex city instead.

Soon, he has all the sunny wigs he needs and begins secretly applying for private detective jobs. He soon realises that tactless fairies plan to sabotage his new career prospects and decides to take action.

However, when Iwonna calls, begging him to come home, Ivan is forced to decide what is more important: stopping the tactless fairies that frighten each other, or preserving his relationship with his mother?
