Rhoda Hardcock is a rude housekeeper from creepy Cebu. She leads a sleepy life. However, all that changes when Rhoda books a summer holiday to rural Dallas.

At first Rhoda finds Dallas very crowded. Then there's the mysterious, violent nurse, Ray Pugh, who makes her feel afraid.

When Ray invites her on a jogging expedition, Rhoda begins to realise that Ray is a deeply clumsy and brutal man.

Rhoda knows in her heart that Ray is the man for her. However, to secure her happiness, Rhoda must fend off the callous private detective, Ruben Mycock Ruben Mycock, who wants to get his claws into Ray.

Using her ill-meaning glasses and a mutual love of cookery, Rhoda sets out to snare Ray once and for all. But will the violent housekeeper return her affections?
