Aman claims to be Obote's son

Juma Obote, a business man in Namayingo district has claimed that he is the first born of the former president of Uganda Milton Obote.

The business man, who owns shops and land in Namayingo and Buvuma respectively, says he wants to re-unite with the Obote family.

Juma Obote told Sunday Vision that his mother was Nayana from Ankole. Nayana, according to Juma Obote, died when he was 2 years. He was raised by his aunt, Jane Obote, who he says, is a sister of Obote.

Juma Obote was raised by his aunt in Namayingo district.

When contacted, Jane Obote confirmed the claims.

However, Jimmy Akena, the Lira Municipality MP, denied Juma Obote's claims.

Akena, who is also the UPC party president, said Juma obote’s claims are not true.

“If his claims are true and he is the first born, I would have known him but I do not know him. Many people have come up claiming to be my brothers with hidden agendas.” He adds.
