HOW TO DETECT LIE

There are many ways to see if a person is lying or not through his body language. Experienced police and security personnel usually use these body language cues to catch criminals during the interrogation process. Research has shown that average people lie for four minutes each day. They may not be aware of doing it and perhaps this is already a subconscious reaction.

One of the biggest signs that someone is lying is that they avoid eye contact during the conversation. They also constantly touch their faces, often they cover their mouths with their hands. Touching or scratching the nose is also said to be a distraction mark to cover up lies. Someone who is lying will try to keep your attention focused on their body movements rather than on the words they say.

When a person lies, their physical expressions are often rigid and limited. If someone smiles when lying, only his mouth will move. A real smile will unconsciously lead to the movement of the mouth, eyes, face, cheeks, and jaw.

The movement of the liar's hands, feet, and arms is directed toward his own body; Liars need only a small space. The body language of the liar is not open. Liars do not seem to be relaxed even though they try to show the impression that they are relaxed.

When a person lies, he has many ways to distract you from his lies. Liars will walk around in the room and put things between themselves and you, like a book or coffee cup. A liar will feel uncomfortable facing or looking directly at you and will turn his head and body away from you. An honest person will be offensive, while the guilty person will be defensive.

When explaining something, a liar would make the conversation more detailed than necessary. He will not feel comfortable if there is a pause or solitude. People who lie will speak in low voices or with vague words. Nevertheless, an expert liar may speak directly and confidently; People who sell door-to-door items are usually experts in techniques like this.

If you suspect that someone is lying, change the subject of the conversation suddenly. Liars will happily change the subject and become more relaxed. An honest person will feel confused about the sudden change. Another sign that someone is lying is yawning. A liar will try to look as relaxed as possible and yawn or stretch the limbs is one way to do that.
