The Number Ones: The Rolling Stones’ “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction”
Keith Richards literally wrote that riff in his sleep. He slept next to a guitar and a tape recorder. When he woke up one morning, he saw that a whole side of a tape had been recorded. He rewound it and played it back, and then he heard that riff and a whole lot of snoring.
Great article/review of one of my favorite songs of all time. I never really liked the version they recorded back in the '60s, but I like what they've done with it since, especially the Hyde Park version. The Stones, to me, are so much better of a band live then what they record. They tweak their songs over time, I think for the better. Would love to see them in concert one more time....
