Knowing Cancer and how to avoid it
Hello wonderful people is yet another prevailage to be with you again. It's really nice writing a STEM post today.
What is cancer?
Medically it can be defined as when cells grow out of control and crowd out normal cells.
This makes it hard for the body to work the way it should be.
Cancer can be treated very well for many people. Cancer is not just one disease.
There are many types of cancer but the one to be treated here today in lecture one is "prostate cancer".
What is prostate cancer?
Prostate cancer begins when a cell in the prostate gland starts to grow uncontrollably.
The prostate is a gland found only in male. It makes some of the fluid that is part of the semen.
The prostate is below the bladder and in front of the rectum. The size of the prostate changes with age. In younger men, it is about the size of a walnut, but it can be much larger in older men.
Just behind the prostate are glands called seminal reticle that makes most of the fluid for semen. The urethra which is the tube that carries urine and semen out of the body through the penis, goes through the center of the prostate.
Types of prostate cancer:
Sarcoma
Small cell carcinomas
Neuroendocrine tumors
Transitional cell carcinomas
Signs and symptoms of prostate cancer:
A sign is something that can be observed and recognized by a doctor or a health care professional (e.g. :- A rash).
The signs and symptoms of prostate cancer can also be caused by other health conditions. It is important to have any unusual symptoms checked by a doctor.
Some of the symptoms are:
A) Changes in bladder habit (need to urinate often especially at night)
- Intense need to urinate (urgency)
- Difficulty in starting or stopping the urine flow.
- Inability to urinate
- Weak or decreased urine system
- A sense of incompletely emptying the bladder.
- Burning or pain during urination.
B) Blood in the urine or semen.
C) Painful ejaculation
Like it is said that prevention is better than cure, let try to prevent most of things we cause ourselves because a healthy one is a wealthy one.
