Steemvoter Guild: "Nominate-a-Friend" for the Guild Vote (Wednesday May 31) - (And Service Update!)

in #steemvoter7 years ago

Web site status update

As mentioned last time, we have been doing some maintenance work to finalize a switch to a new web host, which caused some temporary degradation in site availability. Another consequence of this is our SSL certificate became invalid and needs to be replaced. The web site is up, but for the time being SSL is disabled so you must access it through http, not https, at http://steemvoter.com/ . If you are uncomfortable using the site without SSL, simply wait and we should have it fixed soon.

Previous winning posts

In the last round of nominations, we had the unusual situation of two very deserving posts that both had strong community support. Rather than pick just one as the winner, we picked both. The first place post was rewarded with 60% of the guild vote, and the runner up took the remaining 40%.

First place winner - Steemit Photo Challenge 42 - Entry 2 - SQUIRREL by @webdeals

Author @webdeals felt inspiration strike while out for a walk in the park, and decided to take some pictures of the park's native inhabitants. The results, we're sure you will agree, are simply stunning. We love the incredible sharpness and clarity of detail in these close-up photographs. And he has many more varied, beautiful pics in his other posts. Keep them coming!

Second place winner - I'm giving out 100 Steem as Tips to struggling users...anyone want to match me? by @sykochica

This post is a wonderful initiative to give back to the community by awarding 5 Steem tips to a large number of struggling authors who have so far failed to gain much recognition. @sykochica will also put 100% of the SBD payouts from this post toward the effort, as well as any additional donations received from other Steemians. We applaud this project and one of our co-owners, @cryptomancer, has decided to match @sykochica with a 100 Steem donation from his personal holdings to go toward these tips. Steem on @sykochica!

Now on to today's nominations...

The "Nominate-a-Friend" Steemvoter (SV) Guild program.

So how does it work? Simple ... reply with a comment to this post with the link to another Steemian's post you think deserves the daily Steemvoter guild upvote, you are welcome to motivate in the reply why you think they deserve it.

The reply with the highest upvote $ value will be the winner and the post nominated in that reply will receive the guild upvote, which as you may have seen from previous posts, is a generous upvote from over 500 guild members, giving $100 dollars or more to the author depending on starting value.

Please make sure your nomination follows these guidelines:

Basic Guidelines

  • You cannot submit your own post or that of your other related accounts that you own or share ownership in, if you are found or reported to do this and substantially verified, your and your related accounts will be blacklisted from future guild vote eligibility.

  • No religious, NSFW, racist, trolling, fake news or inappropriate posts will be considered, in which case runner's up will be selected. @steemvoter has the final word as to which post is selected for the daily vote.

  • We will not vote the same author in a seven-day window.

  • Cut-off time: We will choose the highest value comment nomination within 48 hours of this post becoming active. Please only submit posts that are still within their 7 day voting window, and allow enough time for the guild vote to be done before their payout window closes.

  • This is not about curation rewards for the guild members and getting in early on the vote etc, it is purely to reward the deserving author.

  • @steemvoter will consider this a free market experiment and we will facilitate the voting of the post that the community wants voted, without checking for PLG of content, photos and artwork. At our discretion, blatantly inappropriate posts will not be voted on however.

  • This is a beta guild project and terms are subject to change at any time.

Let's make Steem great ... together!!

Today, I would like to nominate @aashishkandel for his great post about blockchain and the society. In this post, he talks about what is blockchain in general, how it works under the hood, the confusion people have with blockchain and bitcoin, and what we can expect from a blockchain society. This post is mainly targeted to newbie and also non-newbie so that they can know about the blockchain and what to expect from it. As a newbie, I am so much impressed with this writing, and I also hope others will too.

Here's the post,

The Blockchain And The Society - What Revolution Can We Expect?

Congrats, your nomination was selected for the guild vote! Their post should be voted on by our guild within the hour.

Thank you @deepapoudel,
this will help spread the knowledge :)

I was wondering what was going on..., but I wasn't too worried since votes are going through. Thanks for the wonderful service @steemvoter

Thanks for keeping the operations running @steemvoter! Also, thank you for making the exception this time for my nomination of @sykochica's post. I'm glad she can do good with the community help! @cryptomancer is quite the benefactor as well. Let's hope we get less dropouts now.
I wanted to ask if I needed to update my rules or anything? This post didn't get voted on and I put @steemvoter on auto.

great!
I was worried if she could win the nomination, but thanks to @steemvoter, they did a runner up upvote for her and also @cryptomancer gave 100 steem for the support. That's so much greatness :)

Thank you so much for the nomination @buzzbeergeek! I'm also uber appreciative of @steemvoter! I love the win/win considering it means more Steem to give away! :D

I checked our logs and it seems many of your votes have been failing for the past couple days. I'm not sure why. We have been doing maintenance work on the Steemvoter web site but that shouldn't have affected the operation of voting rules. I can confirm all of your voting rules are currently active.

I did notice your voting power is under 50%. It might be worth pausing your account for a day or two just to let the voting power recharge, then unpause and keep an eye on it to see if votes continue to fail.

Awesome work ya'll. Glad to see this going. Gald to see @sykochica got some love, well deserved.

I want to nominate @rvwolf for this post. In this post he talks about the problem of unemployment and how steemit could help to stop it.

https://steemit.com/steemit/@rvwolf/bright-future-through-steemit

I'd like to nominate @ooxide for her series called 'Unrealistic Recovery.' Here's the link to part one: https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@ooxide/an-unrealistic-recovery-part-1-coming-to-terms-with-the-jerkass-that-i-was

Even though she's only been here a couple of weeks her writing really is quite strong and get's into real and personal topics that few make public. This one is her coming to terms with addiction, working to over come it and coming out the other side. :)

I'd like to second this nomination. There's a lot of heart in her work.

good one :)

wow! I appreciate this nomination too!!
her post deserves much more upvotes than it currently gets :)

I would like to nominate @verbal-d for his inspirational and moving blog post.
He beautifully elucidates the need to keep our environments clean and why we sometimes need to be change makers than wait for change to happen.
A a father, he sets a fine example for his daughter, and sends out a strong message that we need to act now for a better tomorrow.

Why I Clean Parks & Playgrounds For Free

@caweyant is creating great content that deserves a wider readership, like some of his recent posts on music such as this post on Old Crow Medicine Show which I'd like to nominate for the guild's consideration.

This is an awesome idea to nominate people. Awesome community

nice....you deserve resteem and upvote...
